I am a marketeer in a large MNC. Want to explore options in an NGO/Developmental sector. Am looking at organizations which are involved in micro-lending/ VC's which help entrepreneurs set up and run businesses. My understanding is that a lot of these organizations would need marketing/sales skills to be imparted to potential entrepreneurs, which is where I can fit in.

I need to understand the scope of this kind of work. I also want to know websites/ organizations that I can contact with regard to future employment.

I want a career in the animal care/conservation field but I don't know where to start. Most of the jobs available for people of my experience have nothing to do with animals. I am already volunteering at my local nature reserve, attending talks and guided walks on wildlife, and studying a course in animal behaviour. What's a good first job for getting my foot in the door in the wildlife field?

I am a accounting major and have accpeted a position with one the the "big 4 accounting firms" in their taxation department. I love law, but question weather it is worth the investment of spending nearly 35K a year. Is it better to get a law degree with focus on taxation or a master in taxation that the firm will pay more then half of my cost?

I am not sure whether im that kind of person fit for a job such as being a lawyer. However, ive always had this sense of passion towards justice advocacy and equality. also, whenever we are asked to speak in class ( im a highschool student) for a persuasive speech and literary defense, my teachers as well as my classmates would praise me for being such a good and remarkable speaker. As a matter of fact, my teacher even thought that i could be a politician. Also, my teachers say that i am good in writing as well. However, unlike many aspiring lawyers, ive never been involved in a debating club wherein students are sent out to compete and stuff. Im kind of a low profiled student. does this matter? should i continue to aspire and be a lawyer?

I have a B.A. in Spanish and I'm trying to find a job in which I can utilize my language skills. I just saw an ad for a bilingual transcriptionist position. However, I was wondering what exactly medical transcriptionists do. Could someone with my educational background get a position like that?

I'm asking this question partly because I'm curious and partly because I could use some input. I'm now job hunting and I get overwhelmed at the prospect of writing cover letters and resumes for the various positions for which I'm applying. After all, it's best to write a cover letter and resume that's individually tailored for a particular position you're seeking. (In other words, one size doesn't fit all.) I know that in order to improve my chances of landing a good job, I'm going to have to apply for LOTS of different positions, so I imagine that a lot of my time is going to be taken up by writing resumes and cover letters. And not only is my time going to be taken up by writing, but it's going to taken up by brainstorming, as well! Does it really have to be so overwhelming?

I worked for a company 2 years ago, and left on very good terms. My boss said if I ever wanted to come back I could. Well, now I need to. I am very open to relocating where I am most needed (this is an international company). Should I ask for relocation expenses to be paid, even though I am the one that originally left?

NOTE: I will not be returning to the place where I was when I worked there before.

Would that be unfair of me? Should I just wait and see if they offer, then if they don't, ask for it? Otherwise, it will be nearly impossible for me to move my family as we are stretched WAYYYY too thin as it is. (I know this is not company's fault...but they regularly pay for others' relocations.)

Thanks!

I am a department head where I work. I have been offered a different position with the same company, more money and an upgrade into a pre-management position. ALSO much more stress, I will be in charge of about 10 people under me. It is the only way to go if I want to be in assistant manager line. I do, it is more money and I am not worried about being capable. It is just a huge change from being in my own department running how I want and knowing I do a good job there. It will mean a lot more stress in my life, however. I have already had one heart attack, totally related to stress. However, I have worked a 7 day week for 3 years and still can't meet my bills and avoiding creditors is definitely stressful. What do you think?????
