i think its a good way to accomplish goals

WAY to broad a question. Some nonprofits work very hard to provide help to underserved populations and make a difference in the world. Some work more efficiently at this than others, and some have more positive outcomes than others working in the same or different fields.
If you rephrase your question we can all provide a better answer more specific to your concerns.

I think this world needs more of them. We lose sight of what's important and who really needs help by our everyday living. If people could stop and remember what compassion and generosity were, it'd make the world a better place.
But the world is powered by greed and power-hungry people. Until that changes I don't see much changing.

Most of these places put people to work. This is not to say what it does to our checks, when it comes to taxes.
