Ok,
So I put in my two week notice this morning and am feeling really great about the feedback. Everyone is very supportive and wished me luck. But now I'm like, "What do I do for 2 weeks.....?" No one really has any more expectations of me and my boss (I feel) is pretty much gonna ignore me till I leave next week. And having been a Supervisor, the employees that know, really don't care to bring their problems to me anymore.

It's weird....So I guess I sit in the back office and act important for 8 hours...

What do you think?
Have you ever been in this situation before?

Thanks for any reassurance....

I've done a few odd and end jobs but basically have been home (SAHM) for 17 years. I have applied for office jobs but now they are all looking for Excel or Word or some other kind of expertise but not the same for all jobs. I feel like I was just thawed from a deep freeze! Any suggestions on how I can become more computer savy to an employer regardless of what programs they work with?

My supervisor quit about one month ago, two weeks after she quit about 6 of us got together and went out for drink with her…we did not discus any work related information, we were just catching up on our personal lives. About two weeks later the person who took her place confronted one of us telling that person that we had signed a confidentiality agreement with the company (we did) and that the company was planning on seeking legal action on all six of us for going out after working ours with a former coworker. Is this possible…can they tell us what to do after 5pm?

Late December of 2005, I was living in Maine and I had become engaged to my now husband who was living in South Carolina. My daughter was 2 years old and her father had rarely been invovled in her life. He lived in Massachusetts and for a year that I lived in Maine, only came to see our daughter once, MAYBE twice. He rarely saw her and when he did, never helped out with taking care of her. After a year of living in Maine, I moved back to Mass for 2 months, had my daughter see EI for a leg problem she has, then stopped seeing them knowing that I was moving and would take care of the situation when I got to SC and got her on TriCare. I got an apartment in Maine. I lived there for a few days and then decided to go be with my fiance in SC. So when I decided my daughter and I would move to SC, I figured I would tell her father after we moved to avoid fighting over my decision to get married. I figured he could see her just as often as he already did. I also had sole physical cusotdy.

I did have perfect attendance and I was a hard worker, but I got fired for two days in a row no-call-no-show. (I was sick, but i know, i still should have called). My manager fired me the next day I was at work after being sick. How do I smooth things over with her so I can make sure she won't be a negative reference when I am applying for another job?

Hi all,

I'm about to leave work and my current job pays me an annual bonus, with the term running from jan 1st to jan 1st (it's german accounting year, our parent company is german). I will be leaving around 20th december. We've made budget and technically I think I should be entitled to something.

Is there any legal requirement for them to pro rata my bonus? We normally get it pain in february once the accounts department has finalised the years totals.

Thanks in advance.

You are an American expat managing a worldwide business in London, England. There are only a small handful of competitors for this business, all of whom are located in Europe. Your professional success rests on achieving very aggressive financial performance targets for your business. The CEO of one of your competitors calls with an invitation for you to attend one of the regularly scheduled meetings of the competitors. It seems there has been a long standing practice of these individuals meeting for a dinner and “discussions.” You fully understand these discussions entail pricing, specific customer details and market activities. You also understand that if you choose not to participate, you would not be aware of actions taken by your competitors, and your ability to achieve your financial targets would be severely affected.
What do you do? Explain your decision.

I am currently in high school, but I am thinking about college. I have always wanted to be a lawyer when I am older. When I graduate high school I am planning on going to community college to getting an associates degree as a paralegal and then transfering to a university to get a bachalors degree.

I was wondering if someone could give me any advice. Working as a paralegal would give me some experience in the field of law, but is it worth it and would it help my chances of getting into law school. I know I have to maintain a good GPA and pass the LSAT, but would working as a paralegal and still attending college be worth it.

At work the other day, I was told that my co-worker, whom I work very closely with, had made two basic complaints about me to management. The complaints were 1) sometimes she can't find me, and 2) she feels as though while she is on break I don't get enough work done. Well, we are both in nursing, and often times one of us will be pulled into a room to assist with something as directed by our supervisors. It is expected and we all know that. Due to the nature of our jobs there is alot of times when things can get incredibly busy and although we are working...we don't always get as much done as we would like. My problem is instead of my co-worker coming to me with this problem, she spoke to 3 other co-workers, plus management. Tomorrow I will see her for the first time since all this happened. What should I do in regards to her and dealing with this. I asked other co-workers if they felt the same way as she did about me, and they all said no, that they find me to be a good.

I mean, if you dress in a suit, and smell fresh, and you put "homeless" on your job application, does it really mean any thing? or should you lie and just put the address of where ever your car is, and your PO box?

This past year I received my degree for secretarial technology. I work for the state of Pennsylvania, full-time, but I need a little more cash. I've looked into those online websites that offer these jobs. But I don't understand why you have to pay for them in order to begin. Does anybody have some information that I can look into in order to do this from home? Any information or even a clue to know where to go would help. Thanks!
