Hi!
I'm going to the interview soon. It is very special position for me. And I'd really like to get this job. I'm not interested in money at all. I just wanna do that job. So is it ok not to tell the salary I want to the interviewer. If yes, what is the best way to say and explain?

Thanx!

I had a volunteer position for 3 whole years and I did it every single day just like a real job, only it wasn't paid. Do you think I could put it under the "Work Experience" area of my resume?

It doesn't seem fair to me that a lot of manual labour jobs only pay the minimum wage. Surely, doing dangerous jobs and working out in all weathers is worth more than that? Manual workers are far more likely to suffer injuries or industrial illnesses than office workers, so why are they paid so much less?

So I would really like some insite on what it's like now. I am obviously a female. And I am wondering about those who have pursued there whole career in engineering. I think if I get a good enough head start I could achieve the goal. But is it a good broad career path? Could I do a lot with it? I mean, money is kind of an issue, but I want to know from people who have made their lifes off an engineering degree. Was it worth it? Or would you pursue another career if you could start all over?

Bear with me, as I try to explain this:

I began working for my current company last year. Started out as a Sales Rep.

My boss, the Store Manager took a position at another company a few months later.

I became the Interim manager. I would have gotten the manager spot if I wasn't moving at the end of the summer. Instead, I was given the Assistant Manager position and asked to work full time.

I worked full time for about a month while they looked for a new store manager that needed to be trained during the summer so she'd be ready to take on the responsibilities.

Once she was hired, she didn't feel like we needed as many hours or that she needed to be trained so she cut my hours down to one day a week. (Let's just say quite a few customers have been complaining about her, but that's another story).

I'm leaving in three weeks to move to another state. I found out a week and a half ago that the new girl wanted to hire one of her friends for my position "when I leave"

I need desperately to move out of my parents house by mid-August. I have been applying for jobs outside of the area since May, and have gotten no leads. My resume was written by one of those workforce places, and so it should not be too bad. I am in my mid 20's.. with summerly clerical experience working for a department head at a hospital. (Director of Nursing). Same company hired me back each year, even created a position for me one summer. But that is only a temp position and does not accomplish my goal of moving away from my current area. I hate sales, I absoulutely suck trying to sell stuff. I need garunteed income for bills/rent.. Not commission.. Ive been looking in Admin Assit.. and all of my searching has been with online job searches.. Is there a better way to find a job in a different state? What jobs should I be qualified for with my BA? HELP!! I need a job my parents (uptight) will let me move out on my own to work.. I need to become financially independent!

So I put in my 2 week notice yesterday (Friday), and my boss informed me today that i will be leaving the 20th and that i should work the full 2 weeks after I asked if I can leave at a certain time....My friends tell me that it's BS and after I put in my 2 week notice I can leave at anytime and that my boss is just trying to screw me over because I don't know any better...(this being my first job)...I really want to leave because I have another job lined up and they want me to come in a couple days a week to get trained before i start...What should I do? Stick it out for the 2 weeks or just...leave? I mean...i did give a notice....? I dont know. Help!

I was just curious what the qualification and training involved is for air traffic controllers. I always thought it would be an awesome job. I do have a Bachelor's Degree and I'm working on Master's right now and will finish in May of '08. I know it's a stressful job, I was just wondering what training is needed. How could I find more information on this profession?

I graduated back in 2002 with a B.S in chemistry. I was unable to find any decent chemist position after graduation. I didn't know that a B.S. in chemistry was so worthless. I didn't spend 4 years in college just to get a $12/hr job. I eventually found a job with an insurance company, working as a claims rep....basically just on the phone all day filing claim reports. After 2 years working here, I got so disgusted with it. This was such a dead-end job with no future potential. So I quit. My father owns a gas station, for which I have been working at since June of 2005.

Now I just feel so lost and unmotivated. College did not prepare me at all for the real world. I didn't gain any useful skills that I can take to the workforce. When I tried applying for chemist positions, they told me I didn't have enough experience...so I applied to chemist jobs that asked for an associate's degree, so I can gain experience.....and they told me I was OVER-EXPERIENCED because of my bachelor's degree!!
