You can contact the Better Business Bureau to see if there are any complaints, or contact the Bar association in your state if he is an attorney. Contacting the police can give you some helpful info also.

Does he want a "delivery" or "processing" fee or some bank account details? Then it's a scam. It is EASY to fake any and all of those documents. There are lots of real lawyers who are crooks, too!

Offer him 25% of the money if he'll put the rest in CASH in a sack and send it to meet you somewhere public in a cab. NEVER give someone that approached you (however legit they may seem) any bank account details, they will empty your account.

There is no such thing as free money. You cannot win something you did not enter, and rich relatives never die and leave another estranged relative money without some form of contact first.

Scam.

If you have to pay fees up front before you can receive your money, it's a scam.

Why doesn't he just deduct his fee from your money and send it on to you?
