I am about to go to culinary school and i was just wondering how much (avg.) could i make?

I agree with other forum members that becoming a chef is hard work but there's an air of excitement surrounding that occupation. Nevertheless, have you checked the federal statistics on the average annual income for a chef: it's very low beginning in the mid-$20,000. How does that income cover the large student loans that a chef incurred for schooling. And of course, there are only a handfull of chefs who have the knack of attracting venture capitalist to invest in setting up his very own cafe or restaurant with haute cuisine.

surely you would have inquired into the salary before taking the course?
