What do you have to do to work in fraud police? Any qualifications? Or do you just work in the normal police first or a bank?

It wasn't for a real salaried job or anything, just at a clothing store. I didn't get the job, which I found to be absolutely ludicrous. I answered the questions truthfully and straightforwardly. I was polite to the girl who interviewed me and was quite well dressed (better dressed than her...). Granted, I had no work experience other than as a student aide in my old college, but the fact that this was a job as a junior sales associate should have negated that.

Perhaps they saw me as overqualified? Could the fact that I go to an Ivy League school have caused me a problem? Could it be that they thought I wouldn't devote enough time to them?

What are some tips on getting a job like this? I have to do something this summer and really have no desire to work in an office or to do an unpaid internship. So how do I bs my way into a job? Because for some reason I feel as though my interview wasn’t strong enough. How should you respond those silly questions they ask you?

I work as a waitess, and i've been recieving abuse from the chefs, who constantly swear at me, call me abusive names and won't allow me to do my job properly. I've been sent home tonight in tears and this is the last straw. I want to do something about it, as the boss just dismissed it as 'that's just the way they are', but it bothers me the fact that if it were a customer giviing me the same abuse, they would be asked to leave. What exact law refers to verbal abuse in the workplace, and what exactly does it say so i can complain properly?

I was just offered a job as a receptionist. However, I was also told that I have to take a typing test. I was worried a lil but not alot. I spend alot of time on the computer, so I know how to type fast. My problem is do you think that my method of typing will be under scrutiny. In other words, I don't type the proper way that we are all taught in school. Do you think that my interviewers will care if I type properly or not, or is it really about speed. ( I type 45 wpm, when I am typing my way.)

My brother recently started a new job at a major restaurant chain. Last week was his first time serving, and at the end of the night, he was told that he needed to pay them the total amount of credit card tips that he earned, and that he would be reimbursed for it on his next paycheck. He was able to keep whatever cash tips he earned, but had to lay out $75 to cover the credit card tips. Obviously, this can add up to quite a bit of money by the end of the week, and he ends up not coming home with anything, since all his cash tips go to cover the credit card tips.

Has anyone here ever heard of this before? Supposedly, next week his paycheck will reflect the intitial $75 that he earned in tips, plus the $75 that he's going to be reimbursed, so he will get the money back, but it doesn't seem fair that he should have to lay it out.

Thanks!

If I work Mon-Fri, 10-2, which is a total of 20 hours per week...how much annual leave will I receive, based on the company giving 4 weeks to a full time worker. Logic would tell me I'd only get half of that, but I've been told different by friends.
