I have a problem with finding references that suit the job I am applying for. I just applied for a position as a Career Counsellor for Youth. I work with people who are injuried on the job and get retrained for new jobs. I counsel them and help them find new job etc. The new job I applied for is similiar except it is Youth. I have no references for working with youth except being in Korea and teaching children age 11 &12 for future jobs ,but htey were not high school drop-outs etc.
Who would make a good reference????I have friends who got into trouble here and there and are Immigrants from troubled countries , would they be ok???
The job is a good job and I am certain it will require 3 references that they will call.
My current job is Instructor for Disabled Adults in a retraining and upgrading program for ESL and Math.I work on an independent contract so I guess Iam self-employed.

My life in my present community has grown stagnant. My job is dependent on grants, and is day to day, with little stability. My dream is to move to a large city. How does one do this with few resources?

I was offered a job as a mother's helper for a few hours on a few nights per week. I have experience, I met the kids and we got along well, but I have no idea what I should be getting paid. They offered $8 per hour for helping out with three one-year-olds. There will be an adult present in the house while I work though, they'll just be answering business calls or doing chores though. Anyone have any idea if this is a good wage? Thanks!

I've thought about becoming a pharmacy technician. But It doesn't seem like it pays that much. I keep seeing reviews on the internet where it pays about $10/hr......I just don't know if it's worth going to school for, for that amount of money? Is this true, is anyone out a here a pharmacy tech?

I have had 2 interviews with that Investement bank on Wall Street for a job that is perfectly tailored for me and pays $130.000 bonus included. The VP and the manager with whom I interviewed both said they liked me and see me as a great candidate. However, I understand a person within the company, but in another country. suddenly showed interest in the position; company policy state they have to interview anyone who is internal before proceeding with external candidates. Now I have to wait until next week to know if they will hire me or not. What are my chances? Do you think I shall wait or look somwhere else? Please tell me what you think!

I was just curious, and want to know what people think is the best careers in visual arts/multimedia (this is the area I want to go to university for). Consider things like: enjoyment of the job, wages, location of the work, job availability etc.

I want to start my own business. I have wonderful ideas about what kind of business I would like to start and I think my business would really go far. But I have a couple problems. I don't have any money, only a high school diploma, I am currently in college but not majoring in business, I am anxious to get the business going, and I have no credit. LOL I know it's terrible. How in the world will I ever get a business going? I need the best advice available. Should I look into getting a partner to go into business with me? And if so, how would I go about getting a partner? I really don't know a lot of people, that's why I'm asking these questions on Yahoo Answer.com lol. If someone could help me I would appreciate it. Thanks! Don't be too harsh!

I'm 24 and have never had a "real" job. I spent a number of years caring for my sick grandmother instead.

Then at 22 I began attending a community college and recently transferred to a four year university.

I'm looking for a summer job and have no idea what to write on my resume. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I seem to always have problems with people I work with. No matter how much I try to meet or exceed my expectations I seem to always find people yelling at me and insulting me. The seem to be trying to control me by humiliating me. This may seem ridiculous but I find it very troubling. How can I put a stop to this, as all I want is a safe and simple place to work. I am a waiter at a restaurant and many staff are rude to me. But all I wanna do is help and work hard. I sometimes think that this is the way it is because others are jealous of me and feel a need to compete with me, but I work as a team member. I get no respect. It drives me nuts. I think this is the way the boss wants things. He doesnt want me getting to comfortable, as doing good work doesnt seem to be enough. I would like to get another job but I think this is the way it is everywhere. Can some one offer some good advice?
