WOW, a B.A., he must be really smart, don't you agree? By being so smart you would think that he could figure this out for himself. Anyway my answer would be to get up off his lazy a__ and look for one. Could the real problem be that he doesn't actually want to get a job?

It is silly to post a resume with only three friends looking at it. If you want a good job in graphic design, the first question is...

1) Does he have a website
2) Is he motivated? If not, get a state job, he's not cut out for the private sector.
3) Does he have at least 20 excellent references for work he has done?
4) How many Friends does he have in the industry?
5) How many call him for advice?
6) Can he list 3 of the best sites in his town/state for graphic design? Businesses?

--------------------------------------------------------------
Building experience
1) Contact local non-profits,bands, etc and ask to design their materials for referrals, references and testimonials
2) He is his own bran --- Your son is his own brand, if he can't identify his brand or if his friends/coworkers/contacts can't identify his brand, then he needs to work on this.
3) Contact his school, most schools have placements or career centers. Also departments in the school, such as music and theater could use graphic design help.

Get a lot of experience, then head out west to were the work is (Cali).

Network in his field. Get him off the couch and talk to others in that job market. He is old enough to find his own job. You are finished raising the boy.

Get three good friends to review his resume and make suggestions. Then submit it to several job search sites that allow you to post for free. Here are a few. http://www.ridleypa.com/jobs.html
