If you were almost sure you could get it, and you really needed a job? Theres a hotel near here hiring housekeepers. Its crappy pay, and when I went in to get the application, I could tell the place was a total dump.....but I have experience cleaning and I could probably get the job if I applied for it. Should I apply, even though I know I'll hate it? Or, should I hold off for something better.

(I know I could get it for now and quit when something better came along...but I kinda feel bad leaving employers with no notice, no matter how crappy the job is)

The wage being offered is ok, but not awesome. And if you do ask for more, how high is too high?

I am a coffee drinker, I use it to function in the morning. Ha ha. I have a couple job interviews, tomorrow and Monday morning. Is it rude to bring a travel mug of coffee with, or a coffee from a coffee shop? I have done this before in my interviews with recruiters/headhunters/staffing agencies....but these couple of interviews I have coming up are through direct companies and I was hesitant. I find it could be a good way to occupy my hands, if nothing else, right? LOL

Opinions?

I wrote the beginning of a love story with my bf. It didn't have any salacious details, but it was suggestive, involving a priest and a confessor. (I didn't get to any gross parts though). I accidentally e-mailed it to my supervisor at work (I am a grad student and TA). I e-mailed her a couple hours later after I realized the mistake and said, "I accidentally sent you an e-mail that was intended for someone else. Please disregard it." But I am so worried about what will happen if she reads it. I'm afraid she's gonna think I'm a horrible **** or something. Is there anything else I can do for damage control? Do you think I would get fired/kicked out of school? Otherwise I've been a decent student and a relatively good, helpful employee. Please help me, I'm freaking out here!

I have had my current job for almost 4 months now. I started as a temp and was hired after 520 hrs.
The problem: About a month ago they paid me for 32 hrs when I actually had 43 hrs. It took them 10 days to correct it.
Last week I got paid for only 39 hrs when I had 40 hrs. I sent the financial mngr an email re: this. Still haven't had an answer.
I work 6:30a 3:00p mon, wed, th, sat, & sun
with 1/2hr for lunch. I don't know what to do if this keeps happening. Does anyone else have these type of problems?

I have one now, Workathomeagents.com, but I need to make better pay.....lol.... at least minimum wage in my state. And I need at least 8 hrs. per day to work. Thanks in advance for any and all help, suggestions or ideal's. Working the norm job is not an option for me as I live in the country, no car, and most importantly no babysitter or funds for one.

I've worked my butt off for this company for nearly a year as the assistant manager making $9.00/hr. The company just resolved to increase the starting pay for Assistant Managers to $10.15 after the minimum wage increase passed in January. Now new hires, with less experience with the company will be making way more than I am making. Is this something I have no power over? Or are they just allowed to do this, no questions asked?

I'm only in 7th grade so i got a lot of time to think about this. I want a job thats high paying but doesn't have to always work day and night. (8-10 hour work day nothing more than that maybe a little over will be ok). On average i uselly get straight a's on my report cards (this last quarter i got all a's and one b+). Will matterring what college i go to effect my income (ivey leage colleges like Yale or small colleges)? Also if i get a masters in somthing will that effect my income? I what to get as much money as possible so i have to manage my money wisely. So how do you know if you should get a stock. I'm basically asking how to manage your money wisely. See what i what to have is a big house and enough money that i could go on vacations, buy all the playstations when they come out(i already got the ps3), and go to nice restaruants on a regular basis's. Your probably wondering why a 7th grader is worrying about all this stuff. Well thats just me. Thanks for you replys

Technically she has paid me... but every check has bounced. As of yesterday, she said she was going to go to my bank and directly deposit the money that she owes me. Near the end of the day, I hear from her, and she gave me some lame excuse as to why she couldn't do it, but promises to do it early this morning. Well.. It's now 5:00pm and the money still hasn't been posted to my account. I called her earlier to ask her if she had put the money in, and she said she had, and that the money just might take a while to post to my account. Well... I called my bank 2x today, and both times they assured me that NO MONEY had been deposited. They said that they would know immediately if it had been deposited.
What would you do in this situation?
I want to quit, but I'm too afraid of never seeing this money that she owes me!! Please help!
Thanks!
