On a $1200 monthly budget *rent, food, gas, pet food, utilities, phone, and some for the bank* I'd need to make a take-home pay of $7.50/h, which would require *at minus 20% for taxes* roughly $9.40/h gross pay.

I have my GED, will be 18 by the time I'm ready to move out.

What should I seriously look into to possibly make that? No, I'm not expecting to go out, apply, and automatically get a job with that much pay, but is there any training I can get into to get there soon?

MAX
Rent $600
Phone $50
Electricity $300
Food $75
Pet food $35
Gas $100
Save $50

Also, anyone in Tucson that knows the cost of living and such, did I over/underestimate anything on that list? I hope to not pay that much rent, but if I want a 2br anything that's what I think I'm looking at. Electricity is a worst-case-scenario in the budget... I hope.

Is it to early to find a new job in that feild? Would employers want to hire me even though I don't have my degree yet?

Example of positions of thinking of applying for

I have been working at the same place for 5 years. I have tried to quit only to go back. It has it's advantages, yet it has disadvantages. I am just tired of the some of the crap that is going on and I don't know how to change it. I don't have to work but do it for pleasure. And here lately I just want to throw my keys to the place and run far far away. Should I try to wait it out to see if it gets better?

I currently live in a nice condo in the city. I recently had a job opportunity in the suburbs, but it would require me to live nearby the job, in the suburbs, four days a week and alternate weekends. The rest of the time I could be in the city, and I might be able to commute back and forth now and again.

I'm single, and I'm concerned about my social life being in the suburbs that much. But on the other hand, this job has a much higher salary and is more along the lines of what I want to be doing, long-term, than what I'm doing now.

What should I do? Hold out for a similar job that's in the city? Or take this job and do the best I can with suburb life as a single guy?

Although UCT is a really good university, I worry that American emplpyers dont believe that because of the perceptions about Africa. I have applied for about 150 jobs and have gotten no callbacks...Im getting worried. I graduated with first class honors and a distinction in finance, in the top 10% of my class, so I feel bumbed that I may not get a good job in Finance after all that hard work. Should I study another degree in the US or try to do an MBA in the US? :(

I had a phone interview a couple of days ago. Today, i recieved an email from the HR manager saying that she's still working on timing for the second interview (in person) but i should go ahead and fill out the attached job application and mail it back to her.

My question is:
The application asks for salary requirements. Ive read posts where people say that "negotiable" is fine and others say that a number should be put. I really want this job and I dont want to put down something too high or too low .

would negotiable be ok?

thanks!!

ok I just got a call back on a job that I went to on monday and I am nervous. I know there are two interviews they have to do but I am wondering for this next interview are they interviewing me or going to hire me. I really need a job to pay off some bills and I am very anxious and nervous at the same time. Does this sound good.
