I currently live in a nice condo in the city. I recently had a job opportunity in the suburbs, but it would require me to live nearby the job, in the suburbs, four days a week and alternate weekends. The rest of the time I could be in the city, and I might be able to commute back and forth now and again.

I'm single, and I'm concerned about my social life being in the suburbs that much. But on the other hand, this job has a much higher salary and is more along the lines of what I want to be doing, long-term, than what I'm doing now.

What should I do? Hold out for a similar job that's in the city? Or take this job and do the best I can with suburb life as a single guy?

Actually, there probably already is a Ms. Right, but she also lives in the city. So I'd be seeing her less as well.

It wouldn't be my cup of tea to be away from home that much, but also wouldn't be my cup of tea to live in the city....up to you to decide what is best for you..

Take the job....
if you find ms. right tommorrow, you will regret that you did not take this job.

If you get the job with the higher pay you can rent a small dump in the suburbs and have a party crib on the weekends...like the old farts do with a vacation home.
I am sure with your limited time in the city you will use that time more effectively too.
furthermore, who knows, your ms. right (now?) could very well be right near your job (in suburbia) waiting for you.....
I say if you can keep your downtown place for a few months GO FOR IT!
what do you really have to loose...the chance to meet a chick and party?
Now think about what you are gaining....
DO IT NOW~

If you own the condo why don’t you rent or lease out the condo, and move to the suburbs. After several months or after the lease of over if you don’t like it out there, you can always move back to the city and look for another job while you're still working.

Don’t quit this job until you find another.

Hope this help, Good Luck!!! :)

Don't do the commute. Stay near home.
