I just had a phone interview with a big company but the guy who asked me the questions had a thick accent that I could not understand. If I paused just to figure out what he was saying, he thought I didnt know the answer and gave me the answer or said forget it. He talked about one topic and jumped to the next still making me think we are talking about the same topic. I know that if I talked with someone else that I could understand, then my interview would go really well. I have the email of someone in HR who I ask for the results of the interview...can I request for another interview by explaining the situation to them? What do you do in these situations? I want to email the HR person...what should I write in the email? Please let me know your experiences and your suggestions on what I should do in this situation and what I should write in the email. I dont want to lose this chance. He ended the interview within 20-30 mins... =(

Ok...i jst got promoted to department manager recently. Bad timing cause the people in there are incompetant. But the money is supposed to be good and its a stepping stone to zone manager which pays a whole lot. My mentor, larry was a zone manager up for $30,000 bonus in a few weeks but got fired yesterday for b.s. I' applied to another job online and have an interview on Monday Jan 22. it pays well but not as much as Zone manager position. what should i do? I could keep my present job, hopefully move up to where the real money but be scared of getting fired or take safer job? Also, thinking of moving closer to work. Present job would mean moving to Union, N.J. Other job is closer to where i live now.

Google was just named #1 on the Fortunes 2007 List of 100 best places to work for in America. They include perks like free gourmet meals; doing your laundry at work; drop off your dry cleaning; get an oil change and get a massage all on site. Also, I saw on Oprah, they have daycare, lap pools, state of the art gyms, beach volleyball, haircuts, and you can bring your dog to work! If you could pick any perks that your job would have (other than better salary) what would they be? Mine would be free lunch, free transit to get there, and free laundry machines to use on site!

I was accepted to Texas A&M University in their Computer Science program. The reason I don't go to a specialized art school is because I am going to join the AirForce ROTC and do athletics in college, hence A&M offers those three areas. Hence, my question is, would an advertising firm or web design company consider a B.S. Degree in Computer Science as an appropriate qualification to be a specialist in web design and computer graphics. Obviously you need a portfolio and knowledge and use of the industry standard of the types of programs that are used, but, this question is more directed towards the education aspect of my career choice?

Now, I have some experience on a farm. I have work on and off a friends farm. Well, more like visited and offered an extra hand here and there. I have enjoyed what I have done and understand that it isn't an easy career. But right now I need a change. 14 years in a factory is taking its toll.

My husband is now making rougly $4000 a month, and we have very little expenses (our rent, utilities included, is $151). There is just the two of us, so my income really isn't needed anymore, but I do like my job. I'm just exhausted! I love my boss and I don't want to offend him, but how do I tell him that I need him to cut my hours from 50ish down to about 20? I just need a break - a long one - because I'm burnt out, and this way I won't leave him stranded and I'll still have some structure and income of my own.
