You will have ZERO advance notice.....come w me...will be about all you will be told. If they do teating, they also know at least a little bit about folks trying to "screen to be clean" on the urine test.

Depends on the company that you work for really. I worked for a small business owner that implemented a drug testing policy years before I started and I told him that I needed to give my current boss two weeks notice (but really so I could start cleaning my system), well turns out the supposed pre-employment didn't happen until three weeks after I started but I was still worried about failing. I told a couple of guys that I kind of trusted this and they told me to just tell him that I might not pass because he was a cool guy, so I did and he told me that if I passed there would be no worries and things would go along as if I hadn't told him but if I were to fail I would be given a month to clean out and then take another. Well I passed and things were all good but what I was trying to get at was that after awhile the boss would post the sheet that told him who was going to be tested in his office behind his desk. So me and other guys that might have an interest in it would sneak a peek when we knew nobody would be watching. Of course now I work for a company that bought out my boss and as far as I know we are given minutes notice that we are going to be tested, we are told to get a jacket if needed and we go to a clinic to be tested immediately. Sometimes you are told a day before maybe even a week but probably not much more than that, we were given like 2 and a half weeks notice of our pre-employment test for the new company and I believe that I narrowly passed but hey passing is passing right. My apologies for the background story that wasn't necessary but that is just the way I am, my suggestion if you are on randoms is to completely clean yourself out and smoke like one bowl once a week that is what I have had to resort to which sucks but I make far too much money at my job to be losing over some pot being in my system.

As it is quite expensive I would say not unless there is a work place accident or a suspicion of it. It actually cost quite a bit of money to have urine drug tests analyzed in a lab. That money is certainly better spent elsewhere I would think. Why give random tests to people who are very productive and good employees just to give them? Unless there is a valid reason for it I would say not worth the time or money.

A random drug test is like death... it could come at any time. Don't count on getting any prior warning either. At least the corporation that I work for doesn't give anyone prior warnings - you're just randomly told to go get tested immediately and that's that.

Depends on the company, but usually you don't know until the day of the test.

none, they by law must spring it on you unexpectedly, and Most of my employers would suggest to me the test was coming, since I did drugs for twenty years and could pass them easily on a whim(thats not bragging, thats was a sick condition for protecting my use) ...of course i chose to fail and get the help I needed, but they are not obligated to let you know until its time to go to the clinic
