America's big industry is gone. Our large white collar corporations are leaving as soon as the eat up the pension money of their employees. All domestic air travel might soon go out of business due to the economic trend. There are really only three companies left in this land: WalMart, McDonalds, & Microsoft.
A college degree plus 30 years of experience is worth NOTHING all over this country! As more and more people become permanently unemployed the working population will refuse to bear the cost of food and shelter for them tens of millions of our extended families mostly educated elders will live and die on the streets. True or False?

Do you need any previous experience to work there? I have never had a job before and I was thinking of applying there since they are right now accepting applications. Do you think I would be just wasting my time since I don't have any previous work experience and they would just throw my application away? I would love to work there but I'm afraid to get shot down.

Being the minimum wage is scheduled to increase. How does that apply to individuals already established with a company for over a year? Do they get an increase in pay or is it simply for newcomers?

I have been with company for more than 8 years. I have increased sales volume by more the 30% every year. I am in a position as an executive but my vision for what we could become as a company and what ownership wants is different. They are afraid to take our business to the next level. I am ready for bigger an better things. What do I do? Do I wait another couple of years to see if they follow through with promises or is it time for me to move on? We have built an incredible sales team and many of them have become unhappy due to decisions made by owners. These decision have decreased their pay and decrease benefits. I am faced with more questions everyday and can no longer keep their faith in corporate. What do I do? I make a good living now but wonder what else is out there for me.

Ok your dream job is a personal assistant. Whether to an administrator, manager, producer, Hollywood Star or studio. BUT. You don't know anyone that knows a celebrity. You can't afford to move into LA or NYC. You are just now finishing your associates degree in Business. You really want this job and you've been reading on it. This job fits you well because you love to travel and do stuff for people.

So how would you get started if you lived in a small city of Nebraska? of oh say 7000?

Your best friend isn't rich but she said she'd love a personal assistant. Would you offer to be hers without pay? She has a time demanding job, as a Administrative assistant and a live in boyfriend.

Suggestions?

You are smart and outgoing and you can easily convince people to help you or do something for you. Maybe because you do stuff for them.

So what would you do?

Serious and beneficial answers please!

I am 5 months away from earning my bachelors degree, and I have an Associates degree. why is it that there are people at my company with waay better jobs (and my age--I'm 23) who only have a high school diploma? I know it sounds like I am whining, but I am sick of this crap. I work full time, monday through friday, and go to school at night for my Bachelors full time, and have a 3.9 GPA. Everyone always says if you work hard, you will make it, but I see no evidence of this. I don't have a chip on my shoulder. but could it just be because these counterparts with the HS diploma are white, and I'm black? I hate to think like this, and hate when people complain about this type of thing, but I am starting to think that it is true. I have to work twice as hard to get half as far. It seems so many people just get things handed to them on a silver platter. know, I know... Life isn't fair, but this is ridiculous. I don't see how I am ever going to be able to own a home at this rate.
