I was recently fired from my job at an Indiana prison for inappropriate and unprofessional behavior after 3 occasions of someone making false accusations against me. The complaints were not substantiated and I was never disciplined or given the chance to plead my innoscense. I never signed any type of report nor did I know what the circumstances were until I was fired. All complaints were grossly untrue and I have coworkers that would back me up. I am applying for unemployment benefits and I am also considering consulting an attorney. I am a nurse and actually work for the contract company that the Indiana prisons use. Custody was the one making all the false accusations.

2 part question:

1) My manager told me that by law in California, part-time workers are allowed 1,000 hours to work. I exceeded 1,000 and was told the rest would be counted towards my bonus. Otherwise, it would affect my employer's pension plan.

I looked at my pay check and noticed that they still took off taxes. I was wondering what the correct procedure is for my situation. Should the exceeded number of hours be counted as "overtime" pay?

2) When does overtime pay come into affect? I'm not sure if it only applies to full time workers.

For instance, I work 20 hours per week. If i were to exceed 20 hours in a given week, does overtime pay affect me?

Mostly i've had temporary jobs. I'm 27.

This is what i've had:
-neck whiplash kind of accident cause i imissed a step of a portable ladder used in filing job at bank. took months to heal
-Got carpal tunnel syndrome from typing jobs
-eye strain from computer use
-got Hyperacusis( ear problem) at home, then i had to suffer at work and fake that i didn't , cause job i had was in a noisy place
-Got male problem, and had to go through the 10 month assignemtn with 7 months suffering. At the 3rd month is when i got this super injury but i went through the job assignment. Yet it was hard, never felt happy...We had company lunches and i was like dying but had to fake i was fine.
-Got injured in the knees, couldn't walk in a job where i had to walk so much to do filing and faxing and stuff like that. They finally fired me cause they didn't see me fit enough.

suddenly i get some injury or something outside of work, but then i go to work wile suffering

I've decided that my goal in life is to become a life coach. I have an undergrad degree in psychology, and have been giving advice for as long as I can remember- to my younger siblings, my friends, my parents!, etc. I really do give great advice and I care! I don't know how to become a life coach without extensive further schooling, which I cannot afford. Does anyone know of a life coach who is looking for an assistant, paid intern, or protoge?

I have a few convictions on my criminal background (misdemeanor) that are over 5 years old. I have started going back to college and want to become a R.N. I have my medical assistant license and have applied for jobs at the hospital but have been turned down because of my background. just wondering would this be an issue too if I were to get my nursing license. Do they disregard it after so many years or what? Nurses, anybody help me out!
