S.W.A.T. Team- What do they really do & how much do they make per year?

I'm just curious to know what do these guys really do and all the risk they have to face every day at work and family life.

It depends on the size of the Police Department.
The SWAT team in LA, NYC, etc are fulltime & get training fulltime.
I believe they make 10-15% more than 'standard' street cops.

If you're on the SWAT team in Smalltown USA, you're probably a normal officer that has some additional training or experience, that only does SWAT in special circumstances.
The pay isn't any different for most of them.
