Ok your dream job is a personal assistant. Whether to an administrator, manager, producer, Hollywood Star or studio. BUT. You don't know anyone that knows a celebrity. You can't afford to move into LA or NYC. You are just now finishing your associates degree in Business. You really want this job and you've been reading on it. This job fits you well because you love to travel and do stuff for people.

So how would you get started if you lived in a small city of Nebraska? of oh say 7000?

Your best friend isn't rich but she said she'd love a personal assistant. Would you offer to be hers without pay? She has a time demanding job, as a Administrative assistant and a live in boyfriend.

Suggestions?

You are smart and outgoing and you can easily convince people to help you or do something for you. Maybe because you do stuff for them.

So what would you do?

Serious and beneficial answers please!

You're not rich either. Your aunt is the only relative to you that's rich.

You will need to move is this is your dream. Do not take the position with your friend if she can't pay you.

I think you ought to seek out people who are currently working as PAs and get them to give you advice. People love to talk about themselves, give them that opportunity and they spill their guts.

Good luck!

If you wish to keep the relationship with your best friend, do not work for her. If you really choose to work for her, for whatever reason/s, then ensure that you are paid for the job. Nothing is for free.

A PA's job is interesting, but it all depends on who you are attached to and what sort of business they are doing.

I would love to engage a PA for me to do arrange my travelling plans, take down minutes of discussions/meetings while overseas, arrange accommodation for visiting customers, run errant to arrange visas, guide wives of customers to shopping centres, doing some administrative duties, etc. So I would imagine such are the things other employers are likely to ask.
