At sckool, you thought you would be a billionare
After skool, you thought you would have the prettiest girl, the highest paid job, the best suits, biggest house and car.

You reach 35, you have a bag for a belly, no money, broke, a all washed up drunk, wearing the same clothes you wore last year.

But what really gets you is when you look at all your fancy friends in their fancy cars and big shot houses. It really bites you dont it?

I have been doing alot of interviews lately, and I have been really getting annoyed at some of them. I have found that I can tell within 5 minutes of interviewing at a company If I really wanna work there or not. The last one I was at was for a warehouse manager, and they didn't even give the manager an office. I comented on how they were supposed to work with out a desk and a computer and the interviewer told me that they liked to keep everyone in cubicles to create a "team atmosphere". I laughed and got up and said thanks and walked out. Do you really think this company will learn and change or will they just keep loosing qualified people?
Also feel free to write any of your bizarre experiences in interviews.

I'm a young professional currently working as a network security QA in the Silicon Valley. I find life too mundane in this area. I'm hoping to work for a small fun company in SF. I have some web skills and pretty good at designing multimedia elements. Let me know if you have any leads. Thanks

I have worked in retail for over 11 years (i'm 27) and am tiring of it a little now that I have reached the top of the "ladder". I need to keep busy and thought that maybe something in research (history of some sort), archives or geneology might be good for me.
I have no qualifications as such and would just like some idea about the above careers, what they involve, any qualifications I would need and how I would get into such jobs.

I have been getting a lot of job offers and I accepted on two weeks ago for a start date after the 1st of the year. But I've been getting even more interest since I accepted and one offer is better than the one I accepted. Are there any implications to turning back on an offer already accepted? Like in college, if you sign a letter of intent and then go to another university it is a NCAA violation.

Learning to be a driving instructor in nothern ireland is left totally up to the individual. A structured training propramme with standardised tuition, like other professions, would be better. What do you think?

What would you do if you know your supervisor is having a fling with one of your co-workers and he can get fired for it. The problem in this situation is supervisor is being unfair to the other girls and giving more advantages to this girl he is having a fling with. Its not easy for me to go and talk to my supervisors boss, because my supervisor has painted an angel like image infront of him. Would you wait and collect evidence or would you go straight to the top. My supervisor doesn’t do anything he just passes his work to us. Then the girl who is one of our friends, she wont openly admit they are having a fling, but plays it like he likes her she doesn’t like him….she is thriving on attention.

Last month I requested 3 days off of work for the 24th 25th and 26th of november. Well this week when my schedule came out, I noticed that instead of giving me the days off he gave me a double shift for those days. I also noticed that he gave a whole week off for this new girl that just started and he ahve another week off for antoher one of the new girls. I called him today since it was my day off and was trying to talk to him abotu my schedule, well all he said was he would not change it, I would have to work, and that I was aggravating him. I am now thinking about quiting my job, I ahve worked there for 4 months and never did i complain or ask for days off. And the first time i do he acted really mean to me. Its not fair that the new girls got off for the holiday and i didn't even ask for the holiday off. So would I be making a smart decision to quite, I hate my job, It pays $9.oo an hour and i work as a hostess, but i'm tired of my managers taking adavantage and playing favorites.

You have a colleague in New York and a colleague in
London. All three of you arrive at your separate offices
at 8 am and leave your offices at 6 pm. You want
to have a telephone conference with both of your colleagues
at a time when all three of you are in your offices.
At what time, in San Diego time, could you make the
phone call?

Folks... I just got a new job. However, back in June I got a 17 thousand dollar raise at my old job. This raise was dramatic but I was hired at a very, very low rate. The raise brought me to 55k a year.

Today I get a call from my old boss. He said they made a mistake in payroll and I was being overpaid. They had me down in the system at 80K per year. I honestly did not know the difference in my checks because the raise was dramatic in the first place (17,000 more a year). Do I have to pay them this money back? Any information and/or legal advice would be appreciated

I am in health care and my new employer (not for long) doesn't compensate if I work through my lunch break, they won't pay OT. If you stay over for some reason or another, they call you at home the next day and say " you can come in 30 min later". Or if you do a double they make youtake the next day off. Which might be good for some people, but sometimes I like to work a little OT around the holidays for Xtra $$! Or some people I work with they depend on OT to help out with the bills! I don't see how this company can get away with this! No wonder the employee turnover is so high!! Plus the insurance and benefits are crap! Sorry just had to vent!
