I like my job as a security guard for the most part. It's easy and the pay is pretty good, considering that basically all I really do is sit on my butt all day and do almost nothing. Yeah, I admit I am very lazy anyways, but this job is better than no job at all. I meet some interesting people from time to time. The only complaint I might have is my schedule can be all mixed up, confusing me as to what day it is and trying my best to stay awake during my entire shift. I sleep plenty, but still don't feel rested enough. Other than that, I'm cool with it.

There’s a Japanese guy who’s working at my office, every time I ask him to do something (not to do my work or anything) and he reacts so badly (I asked him if he could put the kettle on and he went mad) he loves to shout at me and trying to make me feel small (if I ask my department head a question and he overhears, he‘ll wait until I‘m alone and rip the piss out of me. He would tell people I was stupid until some one pointed out I have a 2:1 degree from a red-brick uni).

I’m the youngest in my office and I’m the only one he does it to, ( I share an office with a senior accountant and if she’s in there he’ll leave me be). I had my appraisal and my boss is really happy with the standard of my work and my supervisor has commented that my work is of a high standard so I‘m 99% sure this guys doing it out of spite. I want to know is this just a cultural thing and how can I get him to leave me alone?

Personally, I am very glad I am the age I am (46) It seems as time goes on, middle age seems to extend itself!. I grew up in a generation where if you were 30 years old, you were over the hill. From what I learned as al Life, Health and Annuity Agent we should live to around 120 years of age. Ugh! What do you feel about your age and/or the generation you grew up in. (Two questions, I know...sneaky eh?)

Dear Mr. ________

Since beginning college I have had a great interest in finance and economics. When I first learned of the work that investment bankers perform, I knew that was what I wanted to do. Now that I have concentrated my studies upon those topics through majors in finance, economics with finance applications, and public policy, I feel that I have nurtured those interests and acquired enough of a knowledge base to be successful in the investment banking field. I have become very eager to complement this technical knowledge with the requisite practical experience. A summer analyst position at _______ would provide an outstanding opportunity to gain that experience, while also enabling me to add worthwhile contributions to the firm.

I feel that my most valuable asset to _______ would be my dedication to work and a desire for learning. I have been heavily involved in many areas throughout college – I am far ahead of my class in coursework, I have worked...

I work for a very successful attorney. He is one of the most arrogant people I've ever met in my life - but he pays me GREAT. I mostly work at home doing billing, but when my husband schedule allows, I go into the office for a few hours a week. He is married and his wife doesn't work and they have an 8 year old.

I spend my days calling to find massage places that offer a shower afterwards (he doesn't like feeling oily), finding places that his daughter can have private tennis lessons on specific days and times, calling his house maid and complaining that she didn't clean the master bath good enough. This afternoon I got an email from him asking me to get Hanukah wrapping paper.

I HATE doing these things for myself, never mind for someone else. Does anyone else do crap like this? Or maybe I'm just not used to doing this kind of work for someone else? Or maybe because he is just arrogant? Should I just suck it up and think about my upcoming paycheck when I get annoyed?

I think that they should legalize drug dealing and all of the drugs cause it could help the economy out quite a bit and there would be fewer homeless people and there could be also more happier people out there in this world who are getting rewarded for their hard work that they couldn't get from their 9-5 jobs.

I think that everybody in all forms of life should be rewarded equally for their hard work and I think that drug dealing could really help everybody, plus there would also be fewer people in jail that way.

I have a warm heart.
I like language(s).
I love to write.
I’m good at analysing; recognizing what’s important; and at structuring thoughts.
I’m only happy when I can take the time to do things thoroughly and produce high quality results. I work slowly.
People tend to trust me and I have been told I exude peace.
I’m sensitive to people’s needs/feelings/talents.
Being able to make people happy is a great motivation for me.
I like solving problems and I have a lot of perseverance in doing so.
I sometimes find ways of integrating seemingly contradictory things.
I like autonomy.
I get so totally involved in my task that I can only really do one thing at a time.

To make things more complicated: I have a degree in business administration, with a specialisation in finance. You may or may not like to take this into consideration...

I greatly appreciate your help! Thanks a lot!

Unfortunately the president of my company recently passed away. We are a small company, and I don't know if we will be bought out or not. I've only been working at the company for two months, so I am concerned that if we get bought out, that my job may be in jeopardy.

My company has a few federal government contracts that it is obligated to perform whether we are bought out or not. So even if we get bought out, the new company would have to perform these contracts.

I'm concerned that if bought out, that the new company may not decide to retain me, or that if they do, they may not do so at my current salary. I am otherwise happy with my position, but just to protect myself, I have listed my resume on Monster and Careerbuilder and have already gotten some hits.

Has anyone else been through this?
