I am currently head chef i think that they intened to replace me in the new year with someone else at a cheaper rate of pay does anyone know how long they have to wait to do this and what can i do about it also they pl;ann to get an agencey chef in to run the kitchen for the new years eve dinner ive been told they cant do this is this right?
the reason I belive the above is it is a gastro pub with over half of its ground floor newly converted to restaurant 8 months ago and the only chef they have left now works two shifts a week.

Ok my sis is tryna find a job. it's been MONTHS!! We live in MARYLAND. and its been frustrating for both me, and her. Even though I'm not of age as of yet to have a job-job. I just want her to have a job and be out there. So is there anyone that can hook her up? she's wants to be a lawyer and she's 24. So can we get a job dealing with criminal justice or working at a law center. PS:Good paying job!!!!

reason for asking is because a manager thinks that if all employees not making minimum wage recieve a raise that all managment should get one also , like one person makes 6.75 and they get a 10 cent raise to meet mw.and a manager makes 7.00 why should they recieve a raise also?

He seriously does not listen, he lacks interpersonal skills. He has a conversations AT you, not WITH you. Is ignoring him a good idea? Or what can I possiably say, when he doesn't listen? By chance he does listen, what should I say? "Come back when you are ready to have an adult conversation."

I am torn between many career and job choices. I basically have unlimited options, but I just wanted to know what other people think of them!
Note: I enjoy continuously learning within a job, not repetive tasks.

- Musician (I play the piano and viola at high standard, enjoy music a lot, but it may not be an ideal 'career'?)
- Translator/interpretor/Teacher of English/other subject at foreign school (especially a school in Japan. I love learning languages and travelling, China, Japan, Russia and Korea being my favourites, and it would definately be a job which I am 'consistantly' learning from)
- Doctor (a steady job, which I would learn a lot from, very useful skills can be acquired from it, good pay - the world always needs doctors!)
- Politics (something in politics. Not sure what, but I'm starting to get interested in politics and business)

I handed in my notice today

my manager ripped it up and said he is not accepting it, he dont want to lose me I am a valued member of staff.

I filled out an application over the internet 4 days ago for a local movie theater. One of the peoples called me last night and I did an over the phone interview. The lady said she'd turn the paper or w.e it was to her supervisor, and that they'd give me a call back if i got hired or not. So like, what's an estimated time i'd have to wait to know for sure if i got hired or not.

and is it legal for me being 16 and be working till 11:30 pm on school nights? and i live in Michigan so any info would helps.

I got caught shoplifting from a retail store by an undercover detective. I was put on citizen's arrest and had to wait there handcuffed until the police showed up. I have a clean reocrd so they gave me a citation and banned me from goin to that store for a year. I have a court date next month. The thing i stole was under $ 100.00, I'm scared and dont know what to expect. What will happen to me as far as trying to get a job, this is a misdemeanor what are the chances of me finding a good job. Will i go to jail?for how long. I dont have a job to pay for this can I do community service instead? What will happen if I'm on probation? HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE.......Can anyone who has got caught in a similar case like mine help i'd really appreciate it.
