I got a job offer about three weeks ago for a job that I didn't really want, so carried on looking. I'm due to start on Monday - however, I've been offered something better this morning, which I'm going to take. Can anyone offer advice on how to say no (politely) to the one's I'm abandoning?

My partner works in a residential home for the elderly, the manager continually goes to Poland to bring back polls to work as carers, most speak very little English which could put the elderly`s health at risk if they are in pain and unable to comunicate where the pain is. They must also feel lonely and isulated not being able to comunicate with people that take care of them.

I would like to get some information to help me out in my current work. I would like to know the different parameters when the employees of an IT firm could be given Gift Vouchers (like Globus vouchers, Shoppers Stop vouchers etc).

We currently want to give our employees gift vouchers on a monthly basis. I have heard of employees getting these vouchers based on certain parameters viz., performance, project completion on deadline, attendance etc.

I would to make it a more meaningful process for our employees. Please do help me out with your valuable suggestiions and give me the various parameters which we could use in our organization. Please do also send me the links for any websites that i could refer to get more detailed information.

Thanks & Regards,
Sajal Jaiswal

So my guy friend has this job that he started not to long ago and suddenly one day he just wasn't scheduled for the next week, or the week after that. And after about 2 weeks it was pretty obvious he didn't work there I think. But is it really legal for an emplyer to fire someone without telling them they're fired? Like just not schedule them for work, not talk to them, ect.?

I work at a job where the work is very easy and I usually finish what I have to do about 30 mintues to an hour early. I'm wondering if I should leave immediately after I got everything done or if I should stay the whole shift. I would like to stay since I would get paid for that remaining 30 min/hour for just "being at work". But would this be viewed as greedy? What is the norm?

Here's my story. I am an accountant by profession (something I tolerate), but I feel as if my days at work are hours that I am losing...why? Because I feel as if I have so MUCH more to me than a tax-return preparer. I've always had talent in many creative things, such as cartooning, directing, and acting. BUT, I went into accounting because I was fearful of going poor with one of the more creative fields. I work all day long...tax is a busy field...but, I feel as if it's all wasted time and talent. SURE, the pay is nice, but, what's money to me? Compensation for my WASTED time/efforts, etc. Any advice/suggestions for me? MY God-given talents are out the door, my days are nothing special, and my inner talent and creativity is ignored. All comments are welcome, and God bless.

My mother works at a small business and was given keys to the office. She has misplaced all of her keys, house, car, and yes, the office key. She finally told her boss today about the missing key and her boss just flew off the handle, acted unreasonable and told her not to come into work unless she has the key. Is this legal??? Does my mother have any legal grounds or are we just being petty, I feel that this 'supervisor' has acted in a very unprofessional manner and my mother who is 63, is affected by her supervisor's outburst and reaction. Any suggestions??
