what is the amount of notice that you have to give when you start employment on a 3 month propationary period?

Usually one week

If you are still in probationary period, you do not need to give notice as you will not have been given a contract of employment. But it works both ways they can get rid of you without any reason aswell.

This should be in your contract of employment. In the absence of the contract stating anything else, the statutory minimum notice will apply which is 1 weeks notice on both sides, unless you have been there less than a month in which case no notice is required.

It depends on company to company. My company policies are as follows. During the probation period the employement contact can be terminated with one days notice from either side.

After successful compeletion of period the notice period for job termination is 3 months from either side.

Well as I wrote earlier it is solely on the descrition of company policies. In fact all the detailed are mentioned properly on the appointment letter

wether you are in probationary period or not, you usually need to give the employer the same amount of notice as how often you get paid, eg. you get paid weekly, one weeks notice, you get paid monthly, four weeks notice, unless they agree to let you go within the time needed. dont walk out though , you get no benefits paid if you do.

He had purely been there a week and already replaced into coming in overdue from breaks. The business employer is interior of his rights to terminate his interest. there's no case to argue. Thats what the probation era is for, they warn/self-discipline those who won't be able to be fired immediately away

You are expected to give one week notice or in lieu (pay for the one week before leaving)
