I work at a job where the work is very easy and I usually finish what I have to do about 30 mintues to an hour early. I'm wondering if I should leave immediately after I got everything done or if I should stay the whole shift. I would like to stay since I would get paid for that remaining 30 min/hour for just "being at work". But would this be viewed as greedy? What is the norm?

There is nothing else to do once I get done with everything.

I run computers, basically punching buttons and let the programs run until they are done.

I work from 4pm to 12 am. There is no one around when I get off.

You are expected to complete the shift...that's not greedy.

If you feel you are underutilized, let your supervisor/boss know that you are not gainfully employed for that period of time (that lets him/her know that you are efficient).
If you take on more responsibility within the organization, you will become more valuable, help the company grow, and have the added benefit of a raise.

Good luck and have fun.

Thats great, look out for an option to work online while you are free to make some extra cash. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting a discussion and answering a discussion. the link is:

if you work smartly, you can even make $1000-$1500 or more.. it all depends on your usage pattern. I worked for 1 hour daily last month and i got paid $238 for the last month. Its not bad after all, i am happy and making more. After sign up, do mail me to know the tips on how to increase your earning.

Please let me know, if you have any queries. I will try my best to give you right answer

I think that you should leave. It's a waste of money. If you owned the company and all the money that you made went straight into your pocket, when payday came and you had to pull that money out of your pocket to pay everyone, would you want to pay someone who worked for you for doing nothing. I bet you could find something to do though. Could you clean anything up around the office. Clean up the break room. Wipe down your computer and phone with alcohol prep pads to prevent you from catching the flu? Anything?

one should work their full shift regardless if they are finished with the assigned work...i am sure if one uses their imagination they could find something to do in the time left on their shift...be creative, recheck your work, spend the time planning for next shift, restock the office, check the filing system and update them if needed....
