Their reasoning for not sending my paycheck is they had to hire a CPA to check the computers to make sure I hadn't done anything illegal. But isn't that a company problem? I didn't do anything to warrant that, and quit because I felt they were violating my privacy by going through my personal things when I wasn't there.

I live in the state of Virginia. Please help! Thanks...

I work for a large corporation as a Computer Operator. We man 24/7 with three shifts. I was hired in Oct. of 2000 as a 1st Shift Operator (7-3:30 PM). We received an email saying that 2nd shift (3-11:30PM) had two people out on medical leave and they wanted volenteers to work 2nd shift for about 2 months. Can they force people to work this? Even if they have pryor engagements. What does the law say about this?

I have a job interview coming up soon and have to give a two minute sales pitch (can be anything). Although I've been in sales for a couple of years now I've always taken a consultive approach and have rarely if ever given a formal sales pitch. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Nothing ever catches my interest except film, music, occasionally books. I've dipped my head so far into fiction that I can't make a living without feeling dead. What am I supposed to do? I don't want to live with my parents for the rest of my life, but I'm so bored with everything. I wish I could be wanderer, but those times are over.

I honestly feel like I'm in college again in which if a female is mad at you, she will give you the cold shoulders and dirty looks. Today I realized that there are 3 females at work that dont really like me anymore. One is 22 yrs old and the two others are in their 30-40s. Im 22, just graduated college, work at corporate with 500+ employees, and been with the company for 1 month.
Anyways what happened was I went to an executive at the company and told him why I'm recieving these phone calls from customers because it shouldnt come to me. He told me that my job was to only manage the online store and not the phone. He ends up calling people and the girls think I ratting them out or transferring the job to them. Now they wont look at me, are ignoring me, and giving me a rude to tone. I wouldnt expect this from people twice my age. What is up with that? How do I deal with it. I've done nothing wrong and get along with everybody else. and my job requires me to interact with them

Since I was little I could understand tons of dinosaur anatomy and latin names, but I was discouraged by my parents. Later at about age 11, I kind of got interested in paleontology and ancient civilizations. And now, I'm feeling for some travel in my future life? should I major in archaeology/paleontology? i can become travel sick very easily though, and geography definately isn't my strong point. Also, I'm very strong in English/Language Arts, but unless I can become an author I wouldn't get very near it.

Also, up until now, I was trying to get into the medical field, but now I realize that one: I'm mediocre, two: I don't think I could handle working in a clinic or lab all day, and three: it was all my parents' idea anyway. I am a bit interested in human anatomy, but I don't think my skills will get me very far.

Please give me some suggestions on what jobs are enjoyable. Out-of-the office jobs are mostly welcome. And when I say fun, I mean in the sense of good clean fun. It must be moral and legal.

The reason why I'm asking is because the pay is really not good wherein I work but everything else about it is convenient for me. I'm an accountant. I would want to have a job wherein the compensation package is attractive but I'm afraid of pressure and stress. I also don't like the idea of working overtime and on Saturdays.

So, do you enjoy your job? What do you do and why do you enjoy it?

So what advice can you give me? Thanks.
