I honestly feel like I'm in college again in which if a female is mad at you, she will give you the cold shoulders and dirty looks. Today I realized that there are 3 females at work that dont really like me anymore. One is 22 yrs old and the two others are in their 30-40s. Im 22, just graduated college, work at corporate with 500+ employees, and been with the company for 1 month.
Anyways what happened was I went to an executive at the company and told him why I'm recieving these phone calls from customers because it shouldnt come to me. He told me that my job was to only manage the online store and not the phone. He ends up calling people and the girls think I ratting them out or transferring the job to them. Now they wont look at me, are ignoring me, and giving me a rude to tone. I wouldnt expect this from people twice my age. What is up with that? How do I deal with it. I've done nothing wrong and get along with everybody else. and my job requires me to interact with them

At first they were friendly to me until this situation came up.

Take each of them individually on a sidebar when you can, and explain to them exactly what happened and apologize even though it's not really your fault. You can't let this go on; if you plan on staying with the company, you don't want any dark clouds hanging around all the time. Plus girls talk, and they might vent to others, and have them feel the same way towards you. Nip it now!

First, You just graduated.
Congratulations you are now a working stiff!
The rest of your work life will be nothing like the previous three! Your at work now and its time to prove to your Boss how much you know. If you really want to work in corprate and deal with all the people on a daily basis, you need to learn to let only whats important to your job bother you, and ignore the rest.
Second, if you have only been on the job for a month, theres a good chance, your still be watched by your boss or some one above you. Be on your toes, make sure you cross your T's and dot all your I's, and all that other stuff. You don't want to get into personality conflicts in your first year. Let everything slide! Impress your Boss first first, your Co-workers second.
Third, While you're at work, learn to keep your Guns in your Holster! There will be plenty of time to "play Cowboys and Indians and go Fishing" after work. Once you've established your self in the company, after about a year and been promoted then you can expect alittle more respect.
Don't forget that until you prove different, your no better than the next bunch of prospective employees...!!

Weelcome to the world of dysfunctional adults.
These women are nuts1 Again, I said NUTS.
You did what you were supposed to do. Stay with the company another 4-5 months, and if things do not improve by the end of January, just start looking elsewhere. Stay on good terms with your present supervisor or whoever is over your head. It is obvious these women do not wish to do any work. What they think of you is of no import. What does matter is wheter or not you can learn and grow on this job.
Have good friends and interests outside the job. GO for and MBA.
Always stand up for yourself in a kind way. Have ambition to learn and grow, not to abuse for power and money., You'll be happy.
And sometimes, others set us up becuase they are nuts.

Part of being a manager is to take calls from customers at times. You do not feel you should have to do part of your job, no wonder your coworkers don't like you, you have only been there a month and are already complaining about an important part of your job. When I call customer service I usually ask for a manager because they have usually been there longer and know how things are supposed to be. Maybe they also resent that you have been brought in and placed in a position that one of them qualified for.

Girls are very catty. They might have wanted your position before you came to the company. Just be nice to them and say hi. If you really have to talk to them. Get them one on one and ask them what is wrong. Maybe it is you that thinks something is wrong and your taking their mean looks to mean something else. Just concentrate on your job after that. You did the right thing by telling an executive that your job description didn't say you needed to deal directly with customers.

Interact with them in a totally professional manner. Do keep a log of all the snide remarks in case you need it in the future.
Or bare it thru your 90 days and move to a different department.
If you start complaining the company is going to label you as being the problem. And find a way to get rid of you.

Confront them. What do you have to lose? They already "hate" you. If you explain to them that all you did was ask you boss to define your role and that included redefining theirs, they might look at things differently when they see that you didn't actively and maliciously on purpose to ruin their lives like they think you did and it really was your boss's idea to transfer the calls to them.
If their attitudes don't change, ask yourself if it's worth it work in a place where you're surrounded by immature whiners.

Your situation is very common in every work place! Pray for them & yourself that you hold your temper & that they improve for the better. Crab mentality is very common everywhere. Just do your job well & interact with them nicely.

Explain to them that there has een confusion and that you need to clear the air. Ask them what there job duties are, ask them to explain what they think yours are. Do it in writing. Then start egging their cars. They are going to do it to you anyway. Just kidding.
Jealous and anger lead to no good. These gals may be up to just that. No good.

They're hating on you?
Maybe they're player haters.
Maybe they think you're big pimpin'.
Maybe they think you think you're all that.
Maybe you've got mad skills and they're just jealous.
I don't know. But if you're using language like Hating on Me, a lot of people would think you're a retard.
