I have received 3 worker's comp checks in the past 2 months. The first was for 3 weeks lost wages, the past 2 have each been for 2 weeks, but each time the benefit amount has gone down. This past check was for $60 less than the last one. I am missing out a 7 day work week with overtime and also a bonus every two weeks. Isn't there a standard forumla they go by?

I injured my arm at work nearly 2 months ago. An MRI has shown that I have 2 torn muscles. I also have a hematoma, pain, and if I use my arm it swells up like a balloon. I finally went to see an orthopedist yesterday. He told me "it's just a bruise" and to go back to work on light duty, using my right arm as little as possible and no lifting over 10 lbs.He also said I should go for physical therapy 3x a week for the next 6 weeks. I told the doctor that there was no such thing as light duty at my job and that a former supervisor had been let go for being placed on light duty. The doctor said he'd done all he was going to do and that it would be up to my employer whether they'd let me work or not. I then went to my supervisor who told me that I couldn't come back to work on light duty because I don't meet the job description. She also said that I'll lose my worker's comp benefits because the ortho had released me. What can I do about this? Is it likely that I'll lose my job?

I always set my email out of office, even if I'm just away a few hours. I don't deal with external clients & all the people who contact me sit in my office. My colleagues say I'm being anal, I think I'm being consciencious, what does everyone else think?

I'm thinking one of the following:
Secret agent
Race car driver/designer
Assassin-for-hire
Eco-terrorist
Rocket scientist (I actually have the degrees)
Something in the porn industry

I have not worked since May, when I had to leave my last job (still in the probationary period) due to what was probably my first episode of Multiple Sclerosis. I'm pretty much back on form now, I may never have another attack, and I'm back in the job market again. I am worried that having not worked for so many months will stand against me. What am I obliged to reveal about my illness? People already react to the words "Multiple Schlerosis" as though I have a terminal illness.

I know I will get good references from previous employers.

I have a disciplinary hearing this afternoon as I am now totalling 5 days sick so far this year. My contract allows for 15 days paid leave, but as my five days are for three separate illnesses I am being pulled up by my M.D. It appears that four weeks off after a major operation is now more acceptable than my 5 days. Anybody else had this problem?

I need to hire a good Staff Accountant in NJ. I am finding this task to be harder than anticipated. They must have GAAP, Bachelprs and preferably a CPA- Big 4 exp. would be great. I also need a Sales/Use Tax Accountant. Can anyone recommend to me where I can find such a person. I wish I had access to the Big Four Alumni websites so I could network with them but I don't.

Thank you.

Would you rather

Be head of a large company, lots of strees, dealing with difficult and different queries and problems all day, working weekends, travelling far and wide, little free time... But loads and loads of MONEY

OR

A normal job where you know (most of the time) what you are doing every day, whom you report to, who reports to you, where you have to be everyday, your weekends are free, you rarely travel, and you just about levae the office at 5pm. (the money is OK)

(bare in mind that these are complete opposite ends of the spectrum and there is loads of stuff inbetween... what would you choose if faced with just these two options?

I recently went to school to learn how to bartend. I am a college student and cant get a 9-5 job so I made this move so I can work nights. One problem... NOT ONE place will hire without experience. Not even a barback. I even offer to work for free for a while and just get tips. I try so hard and don't want to lie but I am starving. Should I fake it to make it?

I am considering doing a cosmetic tattooing course, As I have always wanted to be a tattoo artist, but seeing that the industry is almost impossible to get into, I have decided that Cosmetic Tattooing would be a great place to start and get great practice with a tattoo gun and shading etc, I have found a course that will teach me cosmetic tattooing & supply me with basic equipment, these courses are run out of select beauty college's in Australia (where I live) But they only run for 5-8 days and cost $5000-$10,000 dollars.. you can also do additional day courses to learn how to coverup scarring & add nipples to breast cancer victims etc... Is this a worthwhile career to be putting so much money into and can I really learn the art in 5-8 days?? Is it a competitive career and how much can I be looking to earn? Anyone that has any advice, experience,etc.. your input would be greatly appreciated.. Thanking you in advance :) I think it would be exciting, but would like to here your thoughts

I am in Liverpool and the City Mortuary won't take workers unless they have this Certificate that I want. It's like a circle. Has anybody any advice on where to try for (even voluntary) work along the lines of working in a mortuary please
