Recently I just sent my resume to a company for applying a job.
I have been waiting for a week without getting any response from the company. I really like this job and I plan to make a phone call to the company for inquiring my application status.
But I never make this kind of phone call before and I would like to seek help from you. Does anyone of you can show me a sample of job inquiry o\phone call dialogue?
Thank you.

I work for quite a large organisation that deals in Insurance and pensions, and the number of Policy holders i deal with who have ran into problems either at the on set or making a claim on thier policy is remarkable and the worst of it is we have to make out as if it isnt our fault when it quite clearly is. Do any of you guys have this sort of working life because it is becoming very demoralising dealing with this day in day out.

Yes i am planning on leaving soon but i need to finish a course im doing at the moment. Thought i ould just get it off my chest

I am not sure if it's a Texas thing but the hiring process is slow and exhausting. It takes about several months to find out if you get hired or not. a long time for a yes or no question. The background check is about as thorough as if the CIA is doing it. I have put college on hold for it since the hiring process seems to coincide with registration and finals for college. It seems to be an either/or thing. I have a police job now but I had to wait almost a year for an ID Card, Vest and other equipment.

The pay isn't bad and I can always go someplace else. But I don't want to keep going to places and wasting my life for a yes or no answer. Should I stay or should I go?

I quit my former employer. He owes me two weeks salary. He was furious that i left his company as he would lose the commission he was getting from my software consultation work. He cursed me and called me names and refused to pay. Then out of blue, he sent a Fedex envelope that said, "Pay check". There was nothing inside except white paper. When I called him he hung up the phone first time. When I called him again, he said, he has already paid me and he has proof for that. I filed a case against him in small claims. Now he has sent the Fedex info and copy of ADP pay roll register to the court claiming he has already paid and taxes have been deposited to respective agencies. I already reported to labor dept too

How would i prove that he didn't send the check. Regarding the pay roll register copy, I guess, he has scheduled the payment through ADP and cancelled it. Can I prove that he didn't pay Fed and state tax as he claimed. How would I get that information from IRS and state?

My boss is very controlling and can be demanding. I have been with the company for 8 years and ever since she's been promoted as a manager she has been a *****! The company requires 2 weeks notice for vacation time and I've always give months notice and she denies me every time! I have so much vacation time and I will lose it if I don't use it! I finally had enough and called in( which is unlike me) Next thing I know I will not get paid for the days I took off. Company policy allows you to use vacation days when you have it available. She is a mean lady and it seems like she likes retaliation. How do I handle this situation?

Here's the deal... I'm not afraid to work. Infact, that's what I want. I do have a HS diploma but I've always been in factorys. The problem is, that I get so bored with every job I've ever had. I need something to keep me busy. It's pretty bad when u have to debate every nite on weather or not to go to work. I know I have to, but any ideas on what else I could do?? I'd like to find something on 3rd shift near St. Louis, Missouri. (and nothing sexual!!)

I am thinking about a career change. I like working in an office, but am finding that the deeper I get into the capitalist world, the less I like it. I still need to live comfortably, but feel that if I was a teacher or worked for a non profit, I would not make enough to support a family. Does anyone know a good company to work for (in the Orlando, FL Area) that helps people along with making a couple bucks along the way?
