I have been told that I will be laid off work from my small factory soon. I don't know if I should go out now and look for a different job now or wait until I am laid off to look or just collect unemployment until I am called back to work. I am a member of the UAW union and I have recall rights. What would you do?

I had a job interview last Monday (an all day affair) and still haven't heard anything despite them explicitly stating that they would be in touch with all of us. How long do I wait before I either give up or contact them?

I know I have to be realistic, I'd love to be a Artist and earn a living that way, but if I'm just not good enough what other things can I do with my degree? I have other qualifications to support it, such as my gcse's and A levels. And a diploma in Fine Art foundation studies.

I'm a collge student and the part time jobs I can get are limited , not to mention pay too little to make them worth anything, I've learned this from life in general (and from my tempoary part time job) "employers don't pay people well for low-skill workers, espially the newer people, you need tenure for what I call On the Job Training Jobs". with this I have came to the conclusion that with the current state of the ecomnomy (that being US) a part time driver would work out great for both me and company as they haven't to pay me benfits and I would get a greater pay rate and only have to work 20-25 odd hours while working towards my degree, now theirs one thing, where do I get the training/certification to do all this. I don't want to drive a big rig, but at least a van or a truck to attach a trailer, something that requires some sort certification that will get me payed a greater pay rate, part time.
