I mean for someone who wants to have a family of about 4. I know it depends a lot on where a person lives. I'm looking to live in Europe, an area that is inexpensive, an area where you would find many Middle Class people. So, I guess what I'm really asking is...What is the average Middle Class income?

I was told my position was being made redundant back in Febuary but that that they wouldn't envisage me leaving. Having been told that another job would be created for me to apply for they finally told me i'm out at the end of September recently. However in that time eight jobs have been recruited within the department and i've not been given a chance to apply for any.
Should I just walk out?

Although I am this person's supervisor I am not THE boss and I don't have a say about terminating them or not. He calls in usually 2 or 3 hours after he should already be at work (and he does this about once every 2 weeks) but he still hasn't been dismissed. This time he called in BEFORE it was time for him to come in but his excuse was that he had been partying and is still drunk --not hung-over-- drunk.
Ultimately the decision falls on our department head and HR, but with "at will" employment, hasn't he been given too many chances already?

My frined gets to go to collage for free . She has no living expenses , she lives with her mom ., she takes 2 student loans out twice a year , so she gets 6 thousand a year in student loans to blow on crap , she been doing this for 3 years , i keep telling her shes gonn ahave to pay it back but she keeps saying she dont have to pay it back until after she graduates then with her teaching jobs teaching elementary kids she will be making 70,thou a year ..I thought teachers got paid crap , anyone know the regular income of a teacher ?

I'm a college graduate with a B.A in English/Writing who wants to start my career as a copy editor. But everywhere I look, it's "We want 2-5 or 10+ years experience!" HOW IS ANYONE GOING TO GET A START IF NO ONE GIVES THEM A CHANCE TO PROVE THEMSELVES?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have excellent grammar skills and usually catch every grammatical error thrown my way! I proofread papers for the other students while I was at college, all receiving A's. But I am constantly told that does not count!!!! It's a wonder how anyone ever receives a job at this rate!!!

I've been working at my job for a little over 11 months now. I was hired in at $5.50. Shortly after, our new hires were being brought in at $6.00. My manager was supposed to raise everyone's wages across the board. However, she did not. I knew this, but because I do not use my job to support myself, I did not care to make waves about it.

However, I have recently taken on a very stressful specialist position--I head a department that is responsible for 40% of our annual sales. I found out through the grapevine that one of my co-workers who has worked for us only 4 months is making $6.75 while I am still making $6.25.

Like all good bosses, my GM is hard to read and scary to approach.

I cannot bring up that I know about my co-worker's wage, because it is not lawful for us to speak about in the workplace which completely deteriorates the basis for bringing it up.

How do I tactfully handle this situation?
