The reason why companies train individuals in thier field is either to enhance thier knowledge so they can do better work while keeping them at same or slightly higher salary (usually cheaper than looking, finding and hiring another person and training them in the companies business) or to keep the worker happy so he/she doesn't look elsewhere. Another possibility is they do not have a budget for another person and do not have grounds to lay off the current person so it is their best option.

In short they do if it is in their best interest. As an employee you can use these reasons to make your case for your employer to pay for training. Showing them how you will make or save them money or make their life easier is the best way to get raises, bonuses, or perks such as training.

If he is a good employee, dedicated to his job an employer will do his best to train him properly so that he will stay at that firm...
