I want to quit my job for VERY valid reasons (terrible downsizing, possible shutdown of company) but don't want to put in my two weeks. I want to do it now. I don't have a job yet, but want to devote my all to interviewing. Will it affect my job interviews if I tell them I quit my last job, but for good reasons?

There are all these offers you get by email. Then there are these "Take survey for cash" emails. Are those real or some identity thieves are looking for more information from you?

I have heard of many organizations that "nominate" students. When in reality they are just looking for people that are willing to spend a load of money on their conference. They are usually good for networking and fun, but they arent really nominated.

WELL I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS
1)i went to my first intervew and everything went perfectly fine , there were two people that interviewed me they never exactly said you have been hired or you got the job...one interviewer said well now you need to speak to this woman(the other interviewer) because she will be the one that will giving you your money..so i talked to her then they sent me to go get a drug test and she told me they would call me once they received my drug test..MY QUESTION IS THAT SINCE THEY SENT ME TO GET A DRUG TEST DOES THAT MEAN I GOT THE JOB BUT IT ISN'T OFFICIAL UNTIL THEY SEE THAT MY DRUG TEST CAME OUT NEGATIVE???
2)I TOOK THE DRUG TEST ON JUNE 29 2006 WHICH WAS A THURSDAY THEN THE WEEKEND CAME N THE FOURTH OF JULY.....I HAVENT BEEN CONTACTED YET AND AM WONDERING IF I SHOULD GIVE THEM A CALL EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN I GOT THE RESULTS???

I got into a wreck about two years ago. It was late at night and a had a couple (2) of beers but was not drunk. I refused the breathalyzer so I was arrested on DUI. By the time they tested me again later, I blew clear, so I only got a ticket for reckless operation. Now I'm coming up on a new job and wanted to know about background checks. Does the arrest for DUI show up, just the ticket, or both. Worried that some dickfuck cop ruined my future by trying to make me walk a straight line instead of bringing me to the hospital. Please only answer if you know exactly what businesses look into and if they are only afraid of felons.

I have been here for 10 months and I have been offered another job in another law firm that is expanding. That law firm will have areas for me to be promoted but may be less money. This job is great and the people are nice (we do have office politics though) but I do not believe that will be moving anywhere other than receptionist, even with my schooling. Should I really change jobs, even if it is less money with benefits? I'm not sure of the exact amounts but I would have a chance to move up the chain instead of staying idle.
