Could it be a scam if you are asked to give $100.00 cash or money-order for a backround check? You will find out the same day of the interview if you are hired and the money will be refunded AFTER the training period. The interviews are closing the same day you respond to the newpaper ad, adding urgency to your decision. It feels like a scam. Is it common practice for employers to ask for employees to pre-pay for their own backround checks?

I work in a bank okay? but soon to be made redundant. There's real money in plumbing although I'd obviousy have to retrain but Ashley says she doesn't think she could go out with a plumber. I'm still the same person, right? Just because I might swap my calculator for a wrench and my suit for overalls. My mates say go for it, you'll get a better class of g/f. What say you?

when i spoke with the lady from HR she said specifically not to dress in business attire. she said to dress " as if i was going out with my friends." the postion would be in a well known casino. probably as an entry level waitress. most of the girls there are pretty and out going. i just don't know if i am to dress grown and sexy casual or club sexy. i'm a pretty conservative girl, but i'm ok with my body trust me. i just don't see the need to distract males that often ;-)

My wife who is well qualified (PhD, Top of her graduate class) is trying to get a job at patent office. No one responds to the resume or phone call. I have been told by other federal employees that you need an insider to get you a fed job and most positions are already wired for someone. Is there any truth to this or are there agencies that provide employees to federal government that one has to go through.
