looking at the time, money invested....do you think that engineering was a good career choice. (looking at salaries etc.)

That really depends on what you like. I studied it for 4 years and loved it! Take out a piece of paper and weigh the pros and cons. Use that as your guide.

Engineering salaries are quite high and their services are in demand. As long as you like the field, it is a great career move!

Yes, there is truly a sense of purpose involved. You make stuff that benefits mankind and you have to use a lot of brainpower to do it. Also, not everyone has the capabilities to become an engineer, so yes, it's a very fulfilling job and well worth it. And it pays well too ; )

Um. I would have to say NO. It depends on what school you attended and what job you land. It might pay off in the end, but usually not.
