If that's what you were told, I'd wear a nice pair of slacks (not jeans) and a decent shirt (not a t-shirt). Just my guess. You want to look neat, not sloppy, but apparently they don't want you to dress up like you would for most interviews.

Beings that I am in the staffing business and deal with your situation on a daily basis - regardless of what they told you - wear something professional - a skirt, jacket (do not let tatoos show - that is a no no) or wear a dress and if it is sleeves wear a sweater tied at the neck around the shoulders - if you want to wear pants do not wear anything that even looks like jeans or cut offs or short pants (above ankle) wear a professional pants suit - you must look professional at all times - after you get the job then you can see what the dress code is in the office and go from there - and just a hint look the interviewer in the eye at all times - do not look around - don't look out windows - sit forward in the chair - ask the interviewer questions like how long she has been in the job and questions about the company and it is good to check out the company first to be knowledgeable about them - and it does't hurt to say "where will I be sitting" and remember always write a thank you note by hand not email. Hope you get the job.

seem at what the workers on the corporation are wearing and gown a step or 2 above that. reckoning on the activity, overdressing could be merely as undesirable as decrease than dressing. I take care of a action picture theatre. once I do interviews, i like to confirm the girls wearing a outstanding shirt and semi dressy pants or a skirt. yet I even have employed females who got here in wearing denims and a clean t-shirt. one factor i might recommend is which you dodge cleavage. you go with the interview to be approximately you, and additionally you do not choose the interviewer to be distracted by ability of something. i'm going to be the 1st to admit that cleavage is almost a magnet for the eyes and that i consistently get annoyed while a woman is composed of an interview with a low cut back shirt because of the fact this is distracting and makes me experience like she's attempting to apply her intercourse attraction to get a job. EDIT RedPoison: have you ever learnt that typing in all caps is the equivalent of shouting.

You have to dress appropriately for the "part you will play". Always dress one notch above what you think they expect. So, if you think they're looking for jeans, dress one notch above, say in casual slacks. You'll never go wrong. Better to dress up too much than wear something that turns them off.
Here's a great article about interviewing clothes...
