I had a really hard time finding a job my senior year. I applied at all fast food chains and grocery stores several times. And I followed up with phone calls. But nobody was willing to hire, even though most of the businesses had help wanted signs up. Am I the only teenager who is having trouble finding their first job? My grandma tells me that I am not being discriminated against. But I believe I am; because I'm a teenager and I have no previous employment. Pls let me know if I am the only one.

I'm considering getting a second job for the summer and I was wondering what exactly a caddy does, what kind of hours one would have, what kind of pay one would get, and if one usually gets tips.

It seems impossible to get a job or experience teaching at the college or community college level because everyone wants to hire only those with prior experience...yet no one is willing to give it. ALso, there are no programs available wherein one could volunteer for experience. This seems true with any field at all! (I hold a Master's degree and for my thesis created a college course comlete w syllabis, and graduate w a 4.0 GPA for Master's, and 3.8 for B.A.

Also, just got bartending license and TIPS certification, all want experience there also...it is a vicious circle!

I appreciate any help suggestions! Thank you.

I've submitted some invention ideas to an invention marketing firm that seems legitimate--The Big Idea Group in Manchester New Hampshire. Problem is it seems like they're only looking for sure-fire ideas.

Suddenly I'm realizing that inventing is the one way I've ever thought I could earn a significant income. Right now my most viable alternative is to become a (male) assistant nurse. So without giving away the types of inventions I submitted, I'd like to ask, what kinds of inventions have gauranteed market value?

Are they small innovations on common items, completely new inventions that might not catch on at first, or maybe a new angle on something traditional? Maybe if I knew the answer I could focus my future efforts in a more practical direction.
