Does having a good induction make any difference to your attitudes towards the organisation, for example do you feel more loyalty towards it or better respected by it?

The proper induction would make you comfortable , as any would be comfotable in any environment only when they know about the expectations , values , culture pratices of that environment . please note that no two individuals are similar in all aspects and this applies to organisations , thus Induction would help you know what is expected from you .

Induction? Lol. I was phoned the day I started to say the key would be under the mat at the back door. Arrived at 10pm to find it wasn't. Called the office and other numbers I found from a phone book in a nearby burger bar. No reply, just answerphones on all of them. Three & 1/2 hours later after driving a round trip of all the offices, 78 miles, I went home and left a message on all answerphones to say where i was and to contact me in emergency. Went to the office the next morning to be told by the manager (who arrived 2 hours late) that he'd forgotten to put the key there for me. He told me he didn't think I needed an induction as I'd worked in a similar environment in the past, but that was 8 years previously, lol. This was a night shelter for the homeless! Needless to say I now do his job (and inductions are conducted in the correct manner). I spend at least 2 nights with every new member of staff before handing them over to a senior worker. Last I heard he was inside for pushing drugs.

My induction lasted 3 days, I have more in-site to the running of the company but my loyalty does go to the people I work with
