There is no easy way out of that one. Bite the bullet and get your degree. 4 years of being poor is nothing compared to the progress you will make for the rest of your life.
Some of the maintenance mechanics where I work bring in $100,000 a year. They went to trade school (6 months to a year), and they work a LOT of overtime...12 hour days, 6-7 days a week. I make close to that, but I have my weekends to myself and I usually work 8 hour days (I have a degree).
A few people, and I do mean few, luck out and they are in the right place at the right time with the right people. I wish I could give more detail, but I don't know any personally.
Go to college and finish. It will be well worth it.

techinical skills like plumbing, carpentry work, electricians and mechanics. Even that you have to work hard to make enough bucks. Don't forget Uncle Sam has the first dip on every dollar you earn....There's no such thing as stress free work....unless you are a dead person.

It's best to have a certificate or skill in a profession that you can be an apprentice in. It is very difficult to find careers that you can enter with minimal education and work your way up. It can be done, but you must be very conscientious about your work ethic.
