I'm sorry, groundhole covers. It was not a city worker job either.

Hi Blah,

The answer to that questions is; "Because a round pothole cover can not fall down manhole and potentially injure a worker"

Now the reason is to see how rounded you are in your logic and how well you handle an "off" question.

They are also known as the "cookie"
questions. IE. What's your favorite kind of cookie/ice cream, etc.

This is a "creativity" question, I call it nonsense.

Good Luck,
~Trey

Over interior the Politics section, I received a contravention for telling someone it turned right into a stupid question. They stated it become for insulting yet another participant. i imagine that if all of us is going to be that gentle, they ought to not be asking inflammatory questions. I stick by using my guns that it turned right into a stupid question and that i stated why. I also imagine that Yahoo! Questions disproves the instructor's old declaring, "there are not any stupid questions" . BTW if want to work out obtrusive lack of expertise to the point of stupidity by using some people attempting to make a factor with a question, check out the politics section. It makes R&S appear like a delightful and respectful discourse.

Who out there knows why pothole covers are round

It's not as stupid of a question as you think. It probes your ability to think outside the box. Hint: it is a lot easier to make square manholes. BTW, potholes are dings and breaks on the road...

It's generally a creativity test.

Truth is, potholes aren't always round - they're square in some places.

Potholes don't have covers, manholes do. if you answer the question any other way you won't get hired for lack of "attention to detail."

It's impressive that you have been to one of these interviews first of all. That particular question is to determine if your a "functional thinker". The answer is so they can be rolled with ease, as they are so heavy, and it is typically a one man job.

I think they like you ... so they piked the sheet with the easy questions. You did mean manhole covers ...right? And you told them so the cover wouldn't fall into the hole ... correct?

They probably ask that because it has to do with the job you're being interviewed for.
