I WANT TO BE A Private INVESTIGATOR BUT I HAVE A FELONY?

and im on probation i really want to do something in the criminal justice field please help what can i do in that field with a felony give me some suggestions please

I'm not trying to be a smart allick, but that's like having a person who burglared my house mow my lawn after he got out of the slammer. Or for him to come and have a cup of capacinno or dinner. This is the states feeling about it. Law inforcement is what it is. Hiring people with a clean slates. The military is the same way. A lot of Trucking companies are the same, too. Some do hire, but I don't know what the criteria they accept for CDL's. They're just afraid. It's a trust factor. They have a hard enough time keeping what they have in a straight line these days. I know where you're coming from though and it's a bummer. Maybe they'll eventually forgive and forget.

I've got a felony too. It is from something that happened almost 8 years ago. I am almost off probation and also graduating from college next month.

I'm hoping that doors aren't closed like people say they will be, but we'll see. However, I do know that a lot of careers requiring state certification are out of the question. I live in Texas and actually looked into being a private investigator. No can do here. Can't have any felony's.

But, your state licensing requirements may be different. Trust me, I feel your pain. 1 dumb mistake from a long time ago. My life is completely different, yet I will pay for it for the rest of my life.

You need education and a sponsor in the police department.
