I'm trying to figure out how much I'll need to net per hour, but can't figure it out because the FDIC, social security, etc. is just totally confusing for me.

Like, I'm adding up all my bills and financial responsibilities, and looking for a job. I have no idea how to know the gross hourly wage I'll need to have to bring home enough to pay for all my responsibilities.

Help!

I am doing a budget for myself and my boyfriend. We are trying to think up what all we will need to pay for each month. I am including all the things we've already thought of. What else do we need to budget in?

Already budgeted:
*Rent
*Auto Insurance
*Auto Repairs
*Food/groceries
*Gas
*Utilities (gas, electric, water, sewage, phone, cable, internet)
*Health Insurance
*Savings
*Entertainment

BTW, we have no credit card debt (or other debt) so that won't be an issue.

I am a 22year old student who earns about $850 -$920 a month. My rent is $600 and my car is $285. I owe about $8,100 in credit card debt and it keeps growing cause I can't afford to pay it. What can I do to help stop it from growing? Is there any free or really good, low cost debt consolidation agencies I can go to? I feel like I am never going to be debt free again any helpful suggestions would be great. I know I'm an idiot for getting into debt so young, but I feel like I'm stuck now. : (

Up until this year (2007), I was employed by a company and they withheld my taxes. I've always withheld enough and usually got a tax refund each year.

Starting Jan 1, 2007 this year, I switched to a self employed contractor status. The employer paid me gross amount each month with no withholding.

Since I had no penalties or tax underpayment in the past, I was not required to pay estimated quarterly tax payments this year.

My question is: I know I will have to make a big tax payment on April 15, 2008 since I didn't have any withholding and didn't make any estimated tax payments this year.

Should I make a big estimated tax payment this month before the end of the year, or would I get charged interest/penalty anyway for not making payments earlier this year in prior quarters?

I moved into an apartment with three guys. BIG mistake (I'm a girl). One of the guys is very irresponsible, immature, loud, inconsiderate, never cleans up after himself and talks crap about everyone he knows. And his excuse for how he acts is, "that's just who I am, I know I'm an a$$hole"

But anyways, he was always putting me down, making fun of me, telling me everything he thinks is wrong with me, and just recently he said he "has some friends he can get to kill me"

Well, I decided I've had enough of him. So, I packed all my things and I moved out of the apartment the next day. So here's my question:

My name wasn't on the lease (because I'm 20yrs.old). I never signed any papers about anything for the apt. Can this guy sue me because I wont pay the remaining of what the lease is? I'm going to pay the rest of Decembers rent, but I'm not paying up until April, because my name isnt on the lease and I'm not living there anymore.

So, can he really sue me for that???

I have a friend that is out of work and has no medical insurance. Recently, during her annual checkup with her OBGYN, they noticed some cancerous cells in her ovaries that may or may not require surgery. If surgery is required and if she then signs with an insurance company, will her surgery then be covered?

Im trying to get into day trading, and my previous experience was with a game like system that completed a trade (order placed to when it showed up in my holdings) in 20 minutes. I dont know much about the online platforms but is this a realistic amount of time to expect a trade to happen in? If not, what is the absolute fastest i would be able to execute a trade on a program like TD Ameritrade, or what is the fastest platfrom around?

Hello - I just got let go on Friday (14th) due to a company wide staff reduction by seniority. In this job I had been paying for disability so that when I got pregnant (which I am now, 7 months along) I would have it to pay for maternity leave. I was with this company for 2+ yrs.

Well, now that I was let go and I am due February 9th I have no idea how to handle the unemployment/disability.

The unemployment obviously states that you have to be available and able to work. Well, at this point it is getting more and more difficult for me to be on my feet and there is such a short time between now and the baby coming I do not see how I would be able to find a brand new job and then take maternity leave right away.......

I don't know how disability works now that I am not working either. Do i still get to benefit from this plan??

Does anyone have any suggestions on how i'm supposed to handle this.. I am getting very stressed worrying about doing things right and need the $$$ :(.

I know that both careers are good, but I just can't decide on one. They both seem equally as a helping career. I would do both but that seems like a lot of time and money invested when I will probably end up only doing one of them anyway. Are there any disadvantages/advantages to one of the careers over the other, do one pay more, have more job availability? I like OT because I would not have to deal with blood, needles, etc. but I like Nursing because it seems like it has more direct care with patients, but it is also more fast-paced and stressful than OT. Feedback would be appreciated-NO STUPID answers.
