I am doing a budget for myself and my boyfriend. We are trying to think up what all we will need to pay for each month. I am including all the things we've already thought of. What else do we need to budget in?

Already budgeted:
*Rent
*Auto Insurance
*Auto Repairs
*Food/groceries
*Gas
*Utilities (gas, electric, water, sewage, phone, cable, internet)
*Health Insurance
*Savings
*Entertainment

BTW, we have no credit card debt (or other debt) so that won't be an issue.

We live separately until after our wedding. We will be living in an apartment together.

Neither of us are living on our own. He is getting an apartment next month and I am living on campus. After our wedding, we'll move in together.

Beauty/personal grooming budget (hair cut, products)
Tithe (if appropriate for your beliefs)
Pet care (if appropriate)
Renters Insurance (highly recommended)
Laundry (unless your rental unit includes washer/dryer...if not it adds up quick!)

Do you own or rent your home? Home maintenance would be an important one. It's good to set aside a small amount each month to prepare for the inevitable home emergency. (Even if it's just enough to cover your deductible.)

Are you living on your own now? If you are, write down everything you use money for NOW. The categories won't change. Only the amounts will be different.

does savings = retirement fund?

It's scary how much they're saying you would need when you retire... very scary...
