Pretty straight forward question. I work for a major corporation, but I am not sure if we are getting holiday bonuses. When are holiday bonuses usually given out?

My grandpa died from cancer. He believed he was leaving our family with enough money from the life insurance policy to be able to pay off our home. We were suprised to find out he has Accidental Life Insurance when we tried to make the death claim, and that we would receive nothing. We believe he was tricked into purchasing this less expensive policy. Is there anything we can do?

I confused of my brother say. he told me he cannot get cash in his credit card but it say on his credit card he have available credit and cash but same amount..( dont know if he just lying)

I appreciate your responses, however those who wish to demean me keep your answers to yourself, I know what I've done already thank you. This is the 2nd time this has happened. I guess I will deal with it when he confronts me. I cannot go to him. He is Russian and has a bad temper. I do not work so its worse cause he is paying the bills (Ouch, I know) I just have to beg him not to leave me. Again, if u are going to put me down keep your thoughts to yourself!

If I buy a house in a new sub division to be constructed. Do I have to make payments on the house while it is being constructed. What if I don't want them to start building the house for a few more months? Can I still reserve my house?

Last weekend, at our company Christmas party, we were all given gift certificates from our employer as Christmas "gifts." A few days later, we were all handed a form to sign. The form first asks you to acknowledge that you received the certificates, and then asks you to "approve" that the amount will be added to the your next paycheck for "W2 purposes."

I have never received a Christmas bonus or gift from any company I've worked for, then had it added to my paycheck. I'm not sure I want to have to pay state/fed taxes on this supposed "gift." Is this becoming a common practice now? What's behind this?

Part of me wants to hand the certificates back and say "no thanks." It's not that much money.

All advice/info welcomed.

So we just got our relocation papers w/ my husband's company, and have 3 mths. to sell the house & receive a 6% bonus (after the 3 mths., the company buys it from us and sells it, no bonus). We have to move by the first week of February, and my husband wants to put the house on the market soon (within the next week or two)...only thing is it is the Christmas holidays, we have 2 kids (3 & 2 yrs. old) and decorations/lights outside and inside.
Do we forego putting the house on the market until after the holidays, or just suck it up, leave our decorations up and put it on the market anyway.
We live in the suburbs of Houston, market here is great right now, especially with the transfers occuring in the oil industry this time of year. We wouldn't have a problem with it selling, we just don't know whether to wait until after the holiday and press our luck with it being less than 3 mths. to sell w/ bonus, or put it on the market now w/ Christmas decorations and all.

Question is, I would like to open an account for my son so he can get a jump in life unlike myself . The problem we seem to have is an extremely dominating mother and grandmother who want to not only destroy me but my son. She has custody at this time but a lawyer told me even land in his name she could take possession of even when I had sole custody and was thinking of his future. Any help would be great, and thanks.
