The idea is solar power lines it eleminates the cost of land and generates power without the need of a plant. How can this be made? Flexible solar panel technology is available but any ideas on how this could actually work?

Let me see if I understand...power lines (ie outside electrical cables) that convert solar power to electricity? Is that what you are saying. First, I'm not sure if that technology would work and be economical. Second, the power of the sun received on earth is not great, so large surface areas help gather more of the power.
