Food hygiene certificate and the ability to bake.

It stands to reason that you would need to know how to bake and have training in baking in quantity. If I were you I would become an apprentice baker; hire on with a bakery that will train you in the proper methods. I would also attend a business school to learn how to run a business and keep the books. Then when you've had a few years under your belt you can start looking for a place that needs a bakery...supply and demand are very important in a new business. Then you'll need to arrange financing and draw up plans to build either renovate a building or build one. You will have to abide by the city, county and state codes for you to get your license.
If this is your passion, I wish you well.

hester had no qualifications, she just went to work at a bakery and paid attention, and her bread was something else... im a photographer and i used her bread for adverts... mmm bacon butties...

and you need a niche'... something different... hester did the builders specials... the 6x2 the 4x2 and the 4x4, and she sold them by the metre!

you don't really need any academic qualifications just the hygiene certificate. but you really don't need high qualifications, as long as your litracy and numeracy is generally good then that's enough. of yeh, you need to have general knowledge to understand how to run a business
