Geez folks, I trade the futures markets, and sometimes I lose money at it. Will I get a bail-out too??? I sold my house in CA in 2005, not too far from the top of the market, paid off all my debts and semi-retired to Thailand. I did this for several reasons; I saw that the housing/lending phenomenon was going to blow up. I also did it because I had way too much debt, had kids to put through college. My move turned out to work out pretty good. I met the responsibilities to my kids and honored the agreements I made in taking out various loans. Now I see that all the whining and moaning from those who acted irresponsibly in their lending and borrowing, may get Mommy Government to bail out their greedy behinds. This what the US has become; a place where if you scream and cry loud and long enough, or if you're a dipsh!t MBA on Wall Street lending $$ to people who you know can't pay it back, you run to your Mommy when the sh!t hits the fan. What a bunch of gelly-spined, limp-wristed wimps.

This is embarassing but I need some guidance. I just went to Old Navy and I didn't have my debit card so the sales associate told me they can take a check and run it through as a debit. I handed her the check and when I got home and took out the shirt I saw the receipt with a check stapled to it. I had accidentally given her the check from an account I had just closed! I grabbed the wrong check book. I had just opened an account at a credit union because Regions sucks (that's another story) and now I need to correct this mess. What should I do? Old Navy was closed by the time I got home and realized the mistake. I want to take care of this first thing tomorrow but it's a Saturday and I don't know what to do. If I want til Monday they might think I tried to defraud them. Someone please assure me that there's some number I can call and give them the right check or the cash and that I'm not going to be sued or arrested or something else awful over this mistake. Help!! What steps to take..

I am renting a house, and after I moved in, my landlord wants to charge me a prorated rent that they didn't disclose to me before I moved in because they assumed that I was moving my stuff in the house, but not physically moving in. Am I required to pay the prorated rent? They also have some of their stuff still in the house.

Im wanting to start my own business an RV Park on a lake site somewhere in the state of Texas. If I charged $300 all bills included a month for 40 spaces at full capacity my gross income would be $144,000 a year.

My question is what would be my average percent of taxes each year on that business? Also are the property taxes separate or included in the business taxes? Lets say the property is 4 acres......

I'm already employed and studying at uni but am hoping to pick up extra work throughout the summer holidays. The position I'm applying for is bar work- pouring drinks etc. I've read a few answers to other similar questions, but generally for bar work I've found places like their girls to be attractive, so I thought it wouldnt be a bad idea to include a head shot. So photo or not? What do you think?

okay,,, I am deperate for money!!! behind on mortgage and every other bill I have...then comes a check for $7,900 to my business in error. It was meant for another company by name very similair to mine. The error was a title company sending the money to me by accident.

So, I could have deposited it into my business account since it was made out to my company.

I did not do that, Title company called of course, and I told them the check was never cashed.

sure, I know I did the right thing,,,, but still a tough decsion,,, what would you have done

I don't know how to explain this too well, so bare with me...
Yanno, on your check stubs from your work how it subtracts your total pay because of state tax, and federal tax?!
I am really desperate to know where I can find out how much federal tax I pay from my weekly income.
Either please give me a website where I can find out how much of my pay goes to federal taxes, or give me cents per dollar taxes...

I live in Missouri, and our state tax is 7 cents to the dollar, I believe. :| (If I'm wrong, please correct me!)
I just wanted to know how many cents to the dollar I pay for federal taxes.

GREATLY appriciated!

I am a regular employee that pays all of my taxes...ALL of 'em.
I have a boss.
He finds the jobs.
He bids the jobs.
He makes the calls on how to build stuff (I am a marine carpenter).
He pays me, and has done so steadily for two years.
I have to have liability insurance.
If I get injured, I think I'm screwed...I have no personal insurance.
How good of a deal is he getting by paying me as an independent contractor?
And again, is this legal?

My employer and I have the understanding that my gross will stay the same each bi-weekly check, but I want to make sure that she is taking out the right amount of taxes because I get paid by check and I don't get a paystub. She recently informed me that she has me claming my 2 kids and myself. It all seems confusing to me. I wanted to claim 0 dependents all year, so that the end of the year I would get back more money.
Can anyone give me a breakdown on the where my money goes and how much goes there,so that I know that my boss is not getting over on me. I would also like to know what the breakdown would be like if I claimed 0 dependents bi-weekly.

Thanks so much

I have been asked to submit a bid for a major contract by the end of this weekend. The email was sent to a number of large companies...and me! This is an amazing opportunity for me to pick up some evening and weekend work. I am a new graphic designer and I want to charge a flat rate for projects, not by the hour. I don't want to bid too low or too high but really have no idea what to charge. The company needs flyers, posters, manuals, brochures and ads on an ongoing basis. What flat rate should I charge for the initial design AND what should I charge for editing the content of their monthly newsletter, for example. Thanks!!!!
