The final pay period for my company this year is 12/28/07. We will be payed for this work on 1/4/08. Should it be on my w2? We were told our W2's would only include up to out 12/21/07 paydate (which was work through 12/14/07). That doesn't seem right...Can anyone tell me what the IRS take on this is?

I recently ran a credit report and found a debt of $130 to Synovus Bank that I don't believe is mine. I want to get this debt off of my credit report and I don't feel that I should owe the money. I know that the first step is to contact the collection agency that currently has the account and demand that they provide proof of the debt, but what to do after that?

I remember seeing a site sometime back that gave a list of steps you can take with collections agencies, and if they fail to meet any of the requirements laid out in these steps they are legally required to remove the debt from your credit report.

My corp. has gone private so I'm no longer able to get stock. Sould I increase my pre-tax 401K contributions ( currently I 'm only contributing up tp the company match) or should I take the extra money (post tax) and open a Roth IRA?

Any other advice would be appreciated.

I left my appartment in near perfect condition and better than how it was when I moved in, yet I am being charged cleaning fees after I moved out because I didn't hire a proffessional cleaner. According to the apartment complex if you dont hire a cleaner yourself it is beyond normal wear and tear. This doesn't sound legal to me. Does anyone know what the phrase means under the law?

I was a temp that went full-time - when I was a temp, I was paid weekly, and went to perm, and will now be paid every other week - I would think the difference would be immaterial, but someone said more taxes will be taken out, because that will put me in a higher tax bracket.

Let me preface our financial situation. I currently make in the area of 30k/yr and my spouse is near $23k/yr. My deductions are taken out based on being married while my wife has her deductions taken out at the married but higher, single person rate. Basically I want to know if this is the best way to ensure we wont owe money at the end of the year?

I moved money from my regular checking account to a new one by typing in the ACH numbers from the bottom of my checks (and the amount to transfer). What's to stop someone else from taking my money that way? Every time I write a check, I give someone those magic ACH numbers.

I'm guessing there's a safety mechanism to prevent this theft, I just don't know what it is.

I have got an offer from sun oil and gas company ltd - united kindom for very attractive salary. i think some of u have also got this offer. did any body join this company? is it real? they are asking 1200 pounds for visa and work permit papers. is it real? did any body joined that company? they have also sent an offer letter as an attachment with company seal and their address. which tells that they r going to refund my money for visa and work permit papers within five days. they have selected me for senior tech support executive like (BPO,s in india) for their customer and technical support. i am so confused. plz help any idea??????????

I don't know much about mortgages so I was wondering if you get foreclosed, whatever that means. I guess it's when the bank demands the entire loan for nonpayments. If I took $100 and paid a card, took the money off after it clears and pay another card the same $100 and then pull it off again after it clears. Its like I've paid my bills without really spending any money. All I lose is a finance charge.

Sounds too easy though. Is it illegal?
