Even though I left on good terms, ONE reason I left is because the company got bought out, and I didn't care for the way things were going. Stretching things too thin, excessive work loads, and hiring unseasoned, inexperienced assistants. I also left because I had the opportunity to work for my husband's business. I KNOW I will be asked why I left. Do I tell them EVERYTHING, or just go with "I had another opportunity"???

A call from National Financial Systems, Inc. When I received a payment of $194.53 after my checking account from Chase closed. Me and my brother both receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) every month on the 1st date as a low-income. It's in my mom's checking account. Our money is for her rent payments. Me and my brother both disability. At this company, they keep asking for the checking accounts or other bank accounts only. Not money orders. I cannot stand it anymore. I couldn't afford it.

My boyfriend's insurance is currently very high and his car is terrible in winter. So he is planning to uninsure it and use mine during the winter along with myself. It makes me nervous to have anyone else use my vehicle long-term, so I am considering drafting up an agreement for him to sign before he uninsures his car. He has already agreed to pay half my insurance and towards gas. I am thinking of including the following items in the agreement: 1) that he pay half my insurance at it's current rate; 2) that he pay a set amount towards gas; 3) if he gets in an accident which he is at fault for, he must either pay for it OR pay the increase in my insurance rate for a year; 4) any repairs for vehicle due to general wear / tear will be my responsibility; 5) that his use of the vehicle not impede with my ability to get to and from my place of employment or any appointments I make. Even paying half my insurance & gas, his monthly total will be less than what he's paying now.

I've rented a side-by-side duplex for about 6 yrs now and I really like it there. My brother rents the older half. It was once a single family home that was converted into separate units. My landlord has owned it for at least 30 yrs, but doesn't seem to care about the upkeep, I think he knows he'll sell it eventually and have to do the repairs then. I want to approach him about buying the unit because I'd rather buy than rent from a new property company that will raise prices. I don't think the home has separate water lines running to each unit. Do zoning ordinances typically allow sale of attached units that are not converted into condos?

I am going to be giving my 3 weeks notice this Friday. I work in an accounting firm and have been here over 1 year. I have heard that the boss will tell you to leave the day you give your resignation because you are leaving to another firm. Would I be eligible for termination pay or severance pay?

My husband is stuck working for a very poorly managed company/team. He's been saying for years that he needs someone else to train for his job as a backup and they keep saying that it will get better. He's overworked and underpaid and they still haven't hired someone for him to train to help him and be his backup. This week he is on vacation, but is near a computer and COULD log in if he wanted (his bosses don't know this). They've had a problem with his process and have left him messages on his cell phone about it. He doesn't want to call them back since he's on vacation and he'll just get dragged into working. I think he should at least call back, but not actually do the work. Perhaps he could just explain to them how to fix the problem--of course, it's programming so I doubt he could do much over the phone. Technically, he is on vacation and should not be available. He's looking for another job, but should he call them back and try to help? What do you all think?
