Even though I left on good terms, ONE reason I left is because the company got bought out, and I didn't care for the way things were going. Stretching things too thin, excessive work loads, and hiring unseasoned, inexperienced assistants. I also left because I had the opportunity to work for my husband's business. I KNOW I will be asked why I left. Do I tell them EVERYTHING, or just go with "I had another opportunity"???

Do you want to be re-hired? if yes don't tell them (plus things might have changed anyway). Go with another opportunity, or it was time to go and try something different.
They might love you because training you and the ramp up to speed for you will be fast (actually it is worth asking for a premium).

DON'T BURN ANY BRIDGES. I would say I had another opportunity. If they pressure you decide how much they need to know. There may be a record in your file about the reason you left if you had any discussion about it before you left. Be vague and see what happens.

More than likely things haven't changed at the company and you will have the same problems as before.

Do NOT tell them everything. Explain your husband's business needed help but couldn't afford an outsider or something to that effect.

Once you get the job, then you can explain your concerns if they are still valid. Perhaps you can help them get it turned around such that it's like it was before you left.
