I am considering putting up my business for sale, but have been informed by my accountant that 40 - 50% of the sale money will have to be paid in tax. The only solution they have come up with so far it to pay the profit it into my pension and hope you live another 25 years to get the benefit, which doesnt appeal. Does anyone know of a way round this?

Seriously I think a job claiming to know the public concensus and stating it loudly would be perfect for me.
How do I go about it?

I bought a poster on Ebay on October 2; the Paypal payment cleared October 9. It is now November 1 and I have not received item. I wrote to the seller on the 29th of Oct. to see what the status of the poster is- there has been no reply. Estimated arrival time was 10-15 days.

How long does one wait on Ebay before filing an official complaint?

I live in Canada and it seams like there aren’t that many coupons available. Also I don’t care about brand names (except for ketchup it has to be Heinz.. Lol!) . I also like to eat healthy but we aren’t vegetarians so yes we eat meat, dairy, and don’t know how to lower our shopping bill. We want to start a family soon so there will obviously be more expenses with that. So, please help! How can I save money on our grocery bill????

Thank you so much!!

I have a home that I've been renting for ~4 years. I am planning on moving back into the home mid next year. What are the tax (as in IRS) implications that I will need to be aware of? Obviously once the renters leave, I will no longer have the rental income to offset the amortization/depreciation. Will additional forms need to be filed or is it as simple as stating 1/2 year of rental income and depreciation? Thanks.

Should I call? If so when and what should I ask or say?

The interview was on Oct. 17 and the last round of interviews was conducted on Oct. 22. They mentioned 2 weeks from Oct. 17 which would have been yesterday.

I am going on an interview tomorrow and somewhat unsure on how I should present myself.

Should I show them how smart I am or will that just turn them off? I have a passion for what I do but fear to show it for they might think that I am just trying to show them off.

Should I act slow and weak, letting them feel that I am trainable and willing to learn? The obvious answer is somewhere in the middle but where and how?

Don't know much about how to sell my self, so please help me out. How should I present myself?

I claim 5 on my W-4 form and I always get a big refund at the end of the year. According to my income level and filing status, I should be taxed at 25%, but I am taxed at 40%. Can I fix this? I would rather get my money each month rather than give it the IRS to use!

Suzie Orman thinks a Roth IRA is a great investment, but I dont know how to go about getting one, so here are some questions
Do I make monthy contributions of say $200 dollars to a Roth or do I have to go to the bank with $5000K in my hand and tell them I want a roth?
When can the funds from the Roth be withdrawn in 10 yrs, 50yrs?
What is the maximum amount of money that can be put into a Roth in a year?
Dont send me to a website please because I already read these and they are not clear. Thank you

off my car and then sent me a letter with the remaining balance of $4000 and change that I owe. Now, a few months later, I am getting a bill from some law firm saying that I owe over $7,000. How is this possible? Has this ever happened to you before, and if so, what does it mean? I want to protect myself from fraud, and of course I am going to call to investigate, but I want to hear from someone who has experienced this.

I was just looking around on my company's shared drive and I noticed an excel salary sheet. Being a nosey person, I opened it. The thing I noticed was that I'm getting paid as much as the boss's son. This wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that I'm a degreed engineer working as the lead consultant on multiple projects and he was hired to do administrative and computer assistance work. This seems wrong to me. I know I've been underpaid for a while now, but this really brought it to my attention. I also know I probably should not have opened that file. Should I ask for a pay raise? Any advice? Thanks in advance!

I have heard that you can figure how much home you can afford my multiplying your annual income by 3, so if you make 30k a year, you could afford a 90k home. Is this based on pre-tax or post tax income?

I heard the other day that nurses who work nights have won the right to be paid thier night enhancements whilst off sick. I work for social services on permenent nights and i'm paid my hourly rate plus £2.20 night working enhancement per hour. If we are off on sick leave we lose this £2.20, and also weekend enhancements, so if we are off sick on a weeknight we lose £2.20 per hour, saturday we lose £4.84 per hour sunday we lose £8 per hour. We are persuing this through our union, and I need some information on the award the nurses have won if it is true. It would be useful to present this to our employers and see if it has any effect on our cause! Many thanks for any help offered.

All I asked was the price of petrol (gas) in the US compared with the rip off price we pay in the UK.
Why? Who other than the petrol companies and the UK Gov is that going to offend. Ah, that maybe the answer.
